Another great song by @John_Delk that I couldn't resist... and that killer skip beat (3/4 in the third bar of four)wow!! Brilliant hook John! I kept John's original acoustic guitar and terrifically cool vocal recorded on his phone; @Rick-4-1 laid the heavy beat down and I (@Phil-McWalter) added a little 'extra heavy' in the mix, then floated out some oily Mississippi guitars on a muddy ripple of stereo Rickenbacker 'dub' bass, an overdriven church choir on a keyboard raft of alcohol (both left over from the wedding arrangements ;-)) and sang some BGV's... great lyrics John! (See below)

Please play it loud!

Broke Down in Tupelo

She took the high road out of Memphis
She'd had all that she could take
She called off the wedding
Her heart was about to break
Now he used to be a better man
But the whiskey changed it all
She got tired of picking him up
Every time he'd fall
She drove a while in a pouring rain
Got as far as she could go
Stopped the car and started crying
She broke down in Tupelo

Too many times she changed her mind
Made her question what she knows
They broke up in Memphis
She broke down in Tupelo

She don't know why
But when she stopped to cry
She thought about going back
She said right then
He's probably drunk again
And she ain't looking for that
Too many times changed her mind
Made her question what she knows
They broke up in Memphis
She broke down in Tupelo

He used to be a better man
But the whiskey changed it all
She got tired of picking him up
Every time he'd fall
She drove awhile in a pouring rain
Got as far as she could go
Stopped the car and started crying
Broke down in Tupelo

And too many times she changed her mind
Made her question what she knows
They broke up in Memphis
She broke down in Tupelo
