My guitar was still tuned in a weird tuning and I found myself playing parts of 'The Lamb' by Sir John Tavener. I've always liked this piece and it was quite addictive trying to replicate the vocal harmonies on guitar, in one go. Original can be heard here: http://youtu.be/IYpVGBSS65o

I think I came close in some places, the ending section being the bit I was worst on... Also, playing this on a steel strung acoustic makes a lot of squeaky noises, so sorry about those. One day I'll get there! Its almost maybe a smidge too fast, I'm working on my 'pauses'. :)

I've really been working on this idea this evening.. I struggled to pick a good enough title, but it does convey how I felt during the process. :) I had other parts that could have gone in too, and I could have played it for longer, but my mind was slowly falling asleep as it was late! I'm proud of how it worked out though.

Recorded with Zoom H1 (apologies for the odd clipping) and my Guild D-55.

DADGAD (probably below as I often play a semi-tone or more below).

I worked out my own version of this in standard tuning a few years ago, but my guitar has recently been in a weird tuning for another piece I'm working on. So I fancied a challenge - so here it is in DADF#ADb (albeit more like C# whatever as I always tune down... :D )
Recorded on my Guild D-55.... Happy Christmas!
I love her track so much that I just had to work it out on solo guitar. I think I also owed her after such wonderful singing over one of my recordings! Capturing the presence of the piano chords was tough, so I had to tune to a completely special tuning just for this version (stretchy chords)! Its still technically an early version, and after endless takes I was tired, so forgive me for any blemishes!

My thanks go to Julie for allowing me to make this public, and for her creating it in the first place! :)

Another one I found from my stash of dodgy recordings between 2004-2007 - only again, this one isn't too bad! I started playing guitar in 2001, so I was still a bit of a novice :D

I remember that England were playing in Euro 2004 at the time (I wasn't fussed), it was sunny, and I was upstairs playing guitar in my bedroom and noodling over the top of a basic chord which was looped on my delay pedal. The squeaking you hear is my chair! It was recorded with a PC microphone, hence the noise.

I believe this was in BEBEBE, and with my first proper acoustic, a Yamaha FG403. Good times!

I've been listening to some of my early recordings from 2004-2007 - some are just shocking! But one or two aren't so bad...

This one has a left to right pan on the guitar, and sort of represents the Earth spinning, with the sun rising in the East and setting in the West. I guess the synth represents the Earth alone in space, or just the overwhelming nature of space. Or perhaps I thought it was cool at the time? :) lol
