Georgia's roaring capital Tbilisi is the homebase of Stimmhalt, our artist from Pesto 019 "Lilac", hence the salute. Meanwhile, Davit has moved his HQ to Berlin and it clearly shows in the sound of the original of Lilac. It's a deep tune, no doubt about that, but it sports a cooler atmosphere, a more minimal approach to the world of Deep House. Filtered chord stabs are sparsely thrown on a distinctive, machine-like yet groovy and shaking beat. Vocal snippets, muted jazz trumpets and shouts are the ingredients of this slightly moody tune that's surely a welcome guest to any warm up or after hour. With releases on D-Lab and Stripped, Stimmhalt is relatively new to the scene but surely one to watch out for if deep, techy House is your thing!

The first remix comes from Ekala, a female artist from Tbilisi. With three artist albums under her belt, releases on labels such as CR2, System, Celestial and Musictracx and remixes for first class artists such as Moussa Clarke and Berny, she's quite the opposite of a newcomer. Her remix features the dry, club-compatible signature sound you'd expect from her. Ekala's remix starts very toolish, just to drop in some vocals towards the middle of the tune. Shortly before a huge break, the original chord stabs are being quoted and the break is unleashed onto the audience. Pads evolve, a whole new world of the original samples opens up when all of a sudden, the dry character of the beginning returns, along with the vocals and a newly introduced paddy chord sound.

YokoO is the second remixer of the bunch, with releases on Plastic City, Affin, Plusminus and many others. The Frenchman in Sidney takes "Lilac" into a completely different direction. Plucky sequences, modulated, drone-like pads and basslines turn this rework into a straight puncher. The vocal snips are reduced, the focus is on the straight forward drum work that's pushing a "man with the red face"-like atmosphere. Club stuff!

Finally, we have Istanbul's own Sinan Kaya, delivering a more classical Deep House remix. A pumping square bass, huge stabs, shaking tops and just snippets of the original parts lead to an atmospheric break. The arrangement is somewhat different from my usual build-ups and there's a reason: I wanted the first third to be usable with tracks that Beatport files under "Deep House" these days (it's rather mnml with some housy elements imo) as well as making a bridge track that enables a DJ to go from deeper stuff to more housy and uplifting spheres. First, we have Cooccer from Stuttgart, Germany - resident at the legendary Climax club inventing a completely new genre. "Elarina" should be filed under DubDisco because of the massive bass line going under some discoid snippets and a strict groove.

Up next, we have Eire's finest Andy O' Donoghue with "Kick Back", a monotonous stomper with a remarkable piano chord, suitable both for early and late hours on the floor - toolish and a must-have in any DJ's sleeve.

Third in the row is "Access" by Norman Creed and Patryk Molinari featuring some not so unknown spoken words in the break on top of a roaring bassline. Patryk just had a smasher out on Peele Records while both of the Berlin based guys released awesome choons on our first EP "Deep Discoveries" a couple of weeks ago.

"Rainbows & Butterflies" comes from Dubai and Mumbai in the shape of Sam Farsio and Arnold Misquitta aka Socio Robots. This hot duo is destined to make it big in 2011 and their contribution to "Booty Shakers" is just another proof of their quality. These guys have been played by all top notch jocks and this tune is no different rather than another reason for their global success.

Then, we have a young talent from FYROM aka Macedonia (please don't start arguments on the meaning of "Macedonia" mkay?) who I've had already the pleasure to rock a night with: Nick Fay. "Your Love" is a plain peaktime full floor smasher that will get any crowd going. Huge breakdown, fat beats, catchy vocal - this one has all it takes!

Last but not least there's Russia's Ivan Weber who contributes a piece reminiscient of "Le Champagne" by Trentemøller in the first place. Ivan evolves "People Are Strange" to new heights though by employing a massive synth riff that ends up in a huge, messy and dirty break - just to catch up with the groove from before.
