Elliot Rodgers speech hits all sorts of buttons. When it first came out the Tumblr Feminists all claimed it was an example of Male Entitlement, and they were half right. It is certainly an example of Entitlement, but I would say it is American Entitlement, or possibly first world entitlement. That mewling spoilt Me Me Me cry that leads everyone to think that they deserve to have whatever they want. "Because you're worth it" is the battle cry of the modern age. Failure to have what you want is followed by rage, I have a RIGHT dammit.
Elliot's speech is a bizarre combination of mewling child (it isn't fair), outright camp ("These obnoxious brutes" - ooh get her) and amazing lack of self knowledge "I am the perfect guy", "The ultimate gentleman" in the same paragraph as "stuck up blonde sluts".
Above all is the pathetic impotent rage, but of course Elliot lives in a country where everyone is entitled to everything including their pathetic impotent rage, and which allows people too pathetic to do anything else the tools to vent that rage. Would Elliot have ever done anything if he hadn't had access to automatic weaponry, or would he still be living with his parents living on a diet of porn and resentment?
Anyone who has had adolescent male hormones in their body and an adolescent male libido will recognise the desperation, but as you see this child sitting in his expensive car, bought for him by indulgent parents, who has obviously never been denied anything in his life, it is pretty clear why he was unable to cope with people actually saying NO to him.

That and the fact he was obviously a complete fucking bellend.
