BIOGRAPHY
Being born into the Disco-era and raised with the cold music of the 80ies, Paste just heard bass – inside of his mum’s belly. In his youth he started yearning for warm usic, finding his place within Hip Hop and the Heat of the Jungle. Musically raised in the subcultural wastelands of Bremen he was still able to maintain his own vision of music which finally lead to establish his own production studio in the dark - a bunker basement. A unique vibe, warm and deep basslines, driving beats, soulful chords and melancholic melodies are the key signatures who shape the original Paste sound. By tearing down old fashioned breaks and jazzy minor chords he found his way to get the original sound of Drum & Bass he always was aiming for. From Motown to Philly, from the 60ies to the 70ies, from the golden-era of Hip Hop and Neo Soul and finally the so called Liquidfunk of the 00s, labels like Hospital, Spearhead, Shogun and Liquid V are the broad influences which shaped the path for Paste’s musical direction.
