"La dura", literally "the hard", it's a slang term from the 60's and 70's.

They were usually gathered in "batterie", litterally "batteries".
They were brothers and sisters, they were robbing to face the system, face to face, they got no masters, they were free, they were not related to any kind of organized crime.
