Mid 1990s vinyl only 1-take mix recorded to cassette tape, recently unearthed in my parents' attic.

Anyone remember MUZIK magazine? well i sent this cassette to them (a copy of course) and won Bedroom Bedlam - the monthly bedroom dj competition which they hosted in the back pages.. a few years later they started giving the winners guest slots on Radio 1 which REALLY pissed me off.. anyway, i digress.

This is very much a "mashup" mix like the Get Carter one earlier. Starting off with a VHS sample of Akira playing over Squarepusher that sort of informs the mix's manifesto, the idea was that we had to go backward to go forward, so the mix accelerates into drum and bass before cutting to half the tempo and building up again through breakbeat, electro and tachno, rounding off with some banging trance. Who knew?
