JAMES REIPAS - Exclusive "Old Tracks Only" Set (Old Dogs ॐ New Tricks - 01.12.2021)

JAMES REIPAS is an electronic music project from Helsinki, Finland. The project started by Kolmas Vasemmalta as an one man band around 22 years ago in 1999 and the first album "This Is Not In Fashion" was released by the Australian label Demon Tea Recordings in the year 2001. The music on that album was rather psychedelic avant garde techno and Goa-trance. There was something about that album because people are still listening to it and it's even been called "a hands-down classic".
After that album JAMES REIPAS released 3 albums, "Uwaga" in 2005, "Personal Trainer" in 2008 and "Super Life" in 2010. Those three albums were the period of time when there were more people in the band and a lot of acoustic instruments such as guitar, trumpet and all kinds of percussion was blended with the mesmerizing techno and Goa trance sounds.
Starting from the year 2011 the band continued as a dynamic duo (Kolmas Vasemmalta & Aki Himanen aka Dten) and the music has again been more about synthesizers and other electronic sounds. In April 2020 Aki left the band and now it's officially an one man project again. The current musical style is quite melodic and deep psychedelic techno.
JAMES REIPAS has played a lot of live gigs in clubs and festivals in Helsinki, Berlin, Tokyo, Moscow and beyond. As a band their live performances were strongly based on improvisation and jamming and now as a solo artist it's more back to DJ-style again.
JAMES REIPAS' music has been released on labels such as Demon Tea Recordings, Freakdance Records, Faerie Dragon Records, Exogenic Records, Super Life Records, Rebeat, Eccentric Ectoplasm Recordings, Space Baby Records, Random Records, FIMIC, Music Export Finland (Musex)Psymply Psychedelic Productions and Stupido Records. The latest release is the EP "Snow Blind" (Super Life Records 2021).
