2025 has been an important year for us. We were (once again!) successfully kicked out of a club — the mood wasn’t great, but immediately afterwards, we were invited to support The Murder Capital and IDLES DJ sets with our records. touching on many levels of reality that do not only concern music
but also, why not, what for the human race is apparently unreal,
what we consider alien to our life framework "as we have been
taught". I am talking about symbols, of the "beyond reality", in a
religious, esoteric and mystical, therefore spiritual sense.
At the beginning of the 90s, the KLF were among the most famous
producers and pioneers of the then nascent electronic house genre
(but not only, they experimented across various genres) with peaks
that took them to the top of the charts throughout Europe. But
there was an inexplicable fact in their career that pushed them to
burn a million pounds.

Why this crazy gesture, we still ask ourselves?
The skilled John Higgs tries to answer this question with this book
as crazy as the events narrated; an intricate plot between
conspiracy and magic rituals, exoterism, and secret societies
where the multiple aspects of music emerge not only as art and
pleasure.

Yes, because music is something else: it is something primordial,
probably something that was before everything else and from
which everything else was generated. Everything, every living
being, every energetic compound has its own music that resonates
in connection with a cluster of other musics that make up the
symphony of our planet and our universe.
So for this reason music cannot be reduced to just an art, it is what
the concept of creative capacity of nature and consequently of the
human being is made up of. Music is the protagonist of the dance
of humanity as creativity. This unconscious and infinite dance,
however, also corresponds to a vital cage that forces the human
being to submit and succumb to the cyclical and finite
unawareness. Music therefore represents all the emotions and
passions of the human soul, outlining their relationship and various
facets.

“The songs were written over many years, making it difficult to pinpoint a unifying theme beyond my deep desire to create music, no matter what. For the longest time, I believed I couldn’t release music because I wasn’t a good enough musician, didn’t know enough people to start a band, and couldn’t afford studio time. At some point it occurred to me that I didn’t want to have these thoughts holding me back anymore. I think that the process of recording the EP (partially at home) with my friends and self-releasing it was my way of proving those doubts wrong.”

The four track EP reflects the fusing of ideas alongside the desire to experience different soundscapes to reflect the individual subject matter of each track. Fosfín are currently rehearsing and writing new material with the aim of playing live shows in 2025. Every year, I keep a personal playlist that grows whenever I come across a new release I find interesting. In the end, I just wanted to select the tracks that gave me the most emotions, music I felt connected to, songs I played in clubs, and tracks I discovered through independent radio shows. Separately, I’m also preparing a playlist focused on the Irish music scene.

Nowhere Music is a personal journey I share with people. I’m happy that this year, I finally had the chance to grow the team! The Records Club found a new home at The Bow Lane Social Club, right in the heart of the city’s life. We organized a successful charity event to collect medical supplies for Ukraine and Palestine, consolidating collaborations with many artists and Pinocchio Magazine. The nights with the Italian Institute of Culture received an unprecedented response, thanks to the collectors and DJs who brought their records. We welcomed Riccardo to the team, he facilitated the streaming of our events to any platform we requested and also set the dance hall on fire with his vinyl records. Kris has been hosting the meetups. Keith helped with graphics and Paul Deego from the records fairs has always been a solid, reliable foundation of the records nights. We also started a collaboration with GalleryX by setting up thematic selections according to their exhibitions.

2025 is already shaping up to be an explosion of ideas we’re working on! I’ll reveal more soon.

With the UBQ lineup, Nidoja's compositions find a strong sounding board and sonic expansion: a musical journey that holds within it the magnificent sound of distant lands! A kind of experimental World Music that opens horizons to other cultures, forcing the mind to the vision of a more united and inclusive humanity.

Enrico Lanza is a Sicilian guitarist and songwriter, born in Catania. He plays in many bands, but Mapuche is his most intimate and introspective solo project. "Mapuche" means "people of the land," and it relates to the raw elements of his songwriting.

His lyrics describe, with simplicity, iconic allegories of tragic, sarcastic, and cynical life situations. Despite the self-references, most of the time he describes those obscure and raw scenes of everyone's life. His stories dig deep into emotions where melancholy is the closest representation of hope in a world where reality is the most detached thing from the land (basic human needs).

When the lyrics are ready, Enrico carefully chooses the people he wants to work with for the production. The last album, "Non Chiamarli Mostri" (Don't Call Them Monsters), was produced by Elia Billoni (alias Dino Fumaretto). It's the most experimental album, where raw acoustic instruments like a guitar or a piano are accompanied by drony and distorted sounds that destroy the sense of comfort, pulling the listener into his disillusion. This is certainly the most cerebral album he has written.

Previous works were produced by Lorenzo Urciullo (Colapesce), Cesare Basile, Alessandro Fiori, and Giuseppe Schillaci. We leave to you the curiosity of exploring his discography!

Geo-Music is a definition well different from World Music. Ushuaia’s compositions are all based on his trips around the world and on the experiences he collected during these journeys. Every spot has its own vibe, every location has its peculiar sound. Moreover, all the lyrics and all the notes of his songs have a precise backstory, inspired by a peculiar experience he lived in the places where the tracks are set. “Set” is the best term to talk about Ushuaia’s composition, because his sound has a very cinematic DNA, the synaesthetic attitude to create images through the music, and -above all -to first carry the listener into a sonic voyage and -thereafter -to encourage him to leave toward new experiences.

The Wanderlust Orchestra represents Ushuaia’s travel companion in his musical journey. A fluid ensemble all over the world, sons of this digital nomadism era. Songwriter and guitarist Michael Smyth was left with 9 recorded songs, featuring Emma Rose on bass and Matthew Milner on drums, but in need of vocals. Unwilling to let these songs wither and die on the vine, Michael taught a solution that would give the songs the audience they deserved and a way to breathe new life into them. Written with a female vocal in mind, Michael decided to reach out to some female/non-binary vocalists from Northern Ireland, inviting them to lend their considerable talents to the music and feature on several different tracks.

slowcore, indie rock, band of Brian Mooney, who has been an engine of the Irish rock scene with his record label Trust Me I’m A Thief and a member of the 90s band The Idiots.

Hubert Selby Jr. Infants
noise rock band who feature members of Electricals, Weird Feelings, and the great radio show Little Plastic Tapes.

Garage Olimpo
slowcore, a post-rock band who actively made this concert happen, has started playing live on the underground Dublin scene in the past year.

Easy Peeler
a debut band featuring members of Hands Up Who Wants Die, Crowhammer, Zeropunkt, and Shifting. We don't know what to expect but the premises are great!

This event is hosted by nohwere with the collaboration of Pinocchio Magazine. All the purchases will be donated to SMART Medical Aid.

The idea for the creation of the Ep “HABITAT” is inspired by three novels: “Die Wand” by Marlen Haushofer, “Korrektur” by Thomas Bernhard, and “Minotaurus” by Friedrich Dürrenmatt.

A thin imaginary leading thread combines these three stories: the environments surrounding the protagonists influence their lives and actions. The places where the characters are born, and grow up, or the places that suddenly appear around them, have a weight and influence all their future choice. The three tracks immerse the listener in a mixture of evocative sounds and atmospheres, suggesting to the listener the vision of open and infinite spaces (Vetro), narrow and claustrophobic places as if they were backrooms (Labirinto), and the search for perfect geometries (Cono).

Davide is a long-time friend, he prepared a playlist of his favourites and music that inspired this solo project.

We bid farewell to 2021 and 2022 with a loud "FUCK OFF," first for Covid and then for the start of the war in Ukraine. Well, the conflict hasn't stopped, even though the media has shifted its focus to Israel, where the well-known retaliation of Hamas against Israeli civilians has escalated into a disproportionate response that has now involved more than 20,000 civilian deaths.

Nowhere Music is against all forms of violence, and we are outraged to see that no power is trying to stop what we can now rightly call genocide. We are appalled to see how slowly these same powers are abandoning the Ukrainian population to fend for themselves and winter is there and cold. We are thinking about actions, the only small things we can do on our side, so you will see something happening in 2024. We are looking for new collaborations, venues, and people who want to get involved. Feel free to drop an email to us or simply write on one of the socials that suits you better.

This year, our playlist doesn't carry a "fuck off" in its title. I feel I've encountered too many of those, and they haven't brought about much change. Moreover, I believe that most people visiting this blog share our concerns. Thus, I'd like to share something that has brought some light of hope for a better future.

I want to send some special thank you to all the collectors who shared our nights out at The Big Romance, and Little Gem Records (Andy) who keep the light on experimental music in Dublin, we had so much fun at Anseo. AC Noises (Andrea) runs a fantastic Twitch channel "What you do for the unknown musicians is great". Think Punk Studios that gave us space and trust for our records nights and concerts. Riccardo who modernized our night out format and Piero our favorite photographer.

We bid farewell to 2021 and 2022 with a loud "FUCK OFF," first for Covid and then for the start of the war in Ukraine. Well, the conflict hasn't stopped, even though the media has shifted its focus to Israel, where the well-known retaliation of Hamas against Israeli civilians has escalated into a disproportionate response that has now involved more than 20,000 civilian deaths.

Nowhere Music is against all forms of violence, and we are outraged to see that no power is trying to stop what we can now rightly call genocide. We are appalled to see how slowly these same powers are abandoning the Ukrainian population to fend for themselves and winter is there and cold. We are thinking about actions, the only small things we can do on our side, so you will see something happening in 2024. We are looking for new collaborations, venues, and people who want to get involved. Feel free to drop an email to us or simply write on one of the socials that suits you better.

What Punk gave me Robin says, it's the feeling of do it yourself...just get up and do it. So when he moved to Ireland in 1988 he started to check the music scene here. Then Facebook came along and I thought I need to do something with this new thing.

He started filming live bands and started uploading videos mostly taken with his phone. This is how Punk in Ireland was born. From the Facebook group he recently created a website, which will soon become the hub for the punk scene on the island.

We are promoting today his solo project Gagarin, the name is inspired by the Russian astronaut, and his music is a mix of electronic sounds and well, it comes from outer space. It's brilliant work.

Known for riff sing-alongs, grooves that open up mosh pits and get heads banging, and the undeniable chemistry between the two remarkable musicians, Bicurious have taken their captivating live show from sweaty private rehearsal rooms to festival stages across Europe for the last four years.

Bicurious juxtapose spacey and rhythmic with heavy and delirious. They build wide, engaging soundscapes that sway between math-rock riffs, post-rock progressions, and noisy breakdowns while keeping a strong focus on catchy hooks.

Bicurious embarked on their gig from Ireland to the UK, France, and Italy, each performance met with praise and new fans who left the show just a little Bicurious.

I met recently met Gavin and asked him to prepare a playlist and an introduction to it, He did an extraordinary job introducing each track, we had never been so close to a band. I really appreciate the effort and the mix is fantastic.

After a break, searching for people with the same mindset, Alberto (bass) and Valerio (guitar, vocals) joined and Garage Olimpo started to compose new tracks. Covid interrupted all the interaction but as it happened to many bands, during that period they continue working on their projects remotely so in Jan 2022 they release their new single "Why don't you dance?" and at the end of October their first song with vocals titled "Here to Last" mixed and mastered by Angelo Russo of Stridente Records.

They collectively created a playlist of their favorites, introduced by Alberto for YOU! It has a nice flow mixing classics and rarities that will drive you on their musical roots. ]]>
