Well, this is weird. I was clearing the flat just the other day when I came across this battered old minidisc fallen down the back of my chest of drawers. According to the label it was recorded off some pirate radio station back in 1997, so naturally I thought it was some kind of DJ set, but when I tried listening to it all I heard was a hissing, scratching, groaning kind of sound for ten minutes, not Chicago house at all. That night I started having this recurring dream, though: I was in a dusty, vintage-looking room and there was a blurry, long-haired figure dragging itself across the exposed floorboards towards me, singing a song. I've had the dream a few times after that, for three, maybe four nights in a row, and each time the figure's been getting clearer - and getting closer, too. Its hair is greasy, tangled, matted into clumps; its fingernails are all torn and janky; and there are these old, brown stains spattered on its dress, like Worcester sauce or something, I don't know. The song was pretty catchy, though, so I wrote it down just as I heard it, gave it to my friend Barry to listen to and since then I've not had that dream anymore. Strange, huh? Anyways, enjoy! :)
Drawing rather heavily from Little Dragon's second album, Machine Dreams, with a smattering of Karen Dreijer-style pitchshifting. Or, in this case, singing in a silly squeaky voice and singing in a silly deep voice.

The vocals don't quite sit properly in the mix. One day I might go back and correct that, but it'll do for now.

I would be on a hiding to nothing if I tried to say that this song wasn't downright misogynistic, even if you do pick up on the, erm, literary reference, but perhaps I can be forgiven due to the song's innate absurdity?
