Music and sounds of Niko Krist

Originating from Stuttgart, Germany, Niko began his DJ career 1984 bouncing from party to party, bringing his unique blend of ambient, dub, electro, and all flavors of house music and techno. His performances illuminated the night and his popularity soared, despite never having produced a single record. That’s right; Niko relied solely on his ability to saturate the dance floor with his outstanding mixes and drops so deep you think the floor is falling out from below you. His sonic flood of techno attacks the night and keeps the dancers moving. Word got around, and soon he was in demand internationally.

He has performed in clubs around Europe, and has stretched his reach to the Americas and beyond, having made appearances in the most famous venues in Würzburg, Munich, Frankfurt, Mannheim, Darmstadt, Stuttgart, Berlin, Düsseldorf, and of course all over Cologne. He has shredded clubs in Chicago, Slovenia, Zagreb, London, Salzburg, Rio de Janeiro, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Ibiza, Zurich, Paris, Brussels, Rome, and Madrid, just to name some in an ever-increasing list.

For over 30 years, he has spanned the globe, creating and presenting the music that keeps fans getting up and coming back for more. His shows create a euphoria of sound that resonates from the stage and pluses through the crowd.

After a particularly busy year in 2011, where he performed more than 100 national and international gigs, he decided to step aside from his DJ career for a while and to study sound engineering, music composition, sound design, mastering, and to work as a music and sound designer for the local media industry in Cologne.

This training has only worked to heighten his already powerful performance, creating a technospace and performance that is unforgettable.

Currently he is working for EMC.audio as a teacher for electronic music and works primarily in his studio on his projects: Niko Krist, Nyko, Codex3000 and RCNTRL to be released on "DNS digital native sounds" in early 2016.
