My first big mix cd release after moving to Halifax. Recorded live on Boxing Day, 1999, all on vinyl and using turntables, naturally. gratitude to those who asked me to load this up. it's been a while. its a mish-mash of house, tech-house, techno, minimal, west coast and more. i really did take the juxtaposition of disparate styles much more seriously back then, as i was convinced it was the best (only?) way to really give one's self a unique sound as a dj. all my favorite djs all had songs you would never expect on their mixes, or ones you wouldn't see charted by anyone else mixed in there with the stuff that everyone played. i wanted to be that kind of dj. i still do. though i'm not sure this philosophy served me well at all times, it made for some interesting mix tapes and radio broadcasts if nothing else. hope you enjoyed this one back in the day and will give it a spin either way.
