NEIL "NAIL" ALEXANDER is a world renowned Pianist, Synthesist, Keyboardist & Composer who works with music in all forms and styles (including jazz, rock, funk, blues, electronica, ambient and contemporary classical). He is also active in Production, Live Sound engineering, Theater, Modern Dance and Film. In 2015 Neil was awarded Individual Artist Of The Year  by the Orange County Arts Council.
Currently Neil is in several performing ensembles including "NAIL",  "Mr. GONE" and the Thunderhead Organ Trio. His most recent release is "Soft Invaders", a set of synth driven ambient electronic pieces recorded during a live on-air performance on WPRB radio. He was the musical director and keyboardist for Decora, a Hudson Valley Hip Hop artist. In October of 2016 Neil presented the "X Ensemble", an 11 piece  acoustic/electric Jazz group in a concert of contemporary chamber works at the Ritz Theater in Newburgh NY. The X Ensemble is currently booking the first season which will run from October 2017 thur May of 2018.

As an active musician he has a recording and/or a performance history with a wide variety of groups and artists such as The Machine, The Mahavishnu Project, Tony "Thunder" Smith, Gunther Hampel, Tal Ross (P-Funk), Charles Haynes, Erik Lawrence, and The Adaptors Movement Theater. He composes extensively for Modern Dance, working with such Choreographers as Kevin Wynn, Molly Poerstel, Larry Clark, Lane Gifford and Jonathan Riedel, as well as SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Dance students and faculty. His compositions have featured many times as part of the Conservatory's Nanang Academy of Fine Arts exchange program in Singapore.

From 2012-2013 Neil performed a solo piano concert series titled "100 Years Of Spring", celebrating the centennial of Stravinsky's "Rite Of Spring" with a stunning solo piano arrangement, and released his 1st solo piano CD "Darn That Dream: Solo Piano Vol. 1"  to critical acclaim. A 2nd solo piano CD, culled from a live performance, is due out in 2017.

from 1996 - 2011 Neil promoted and managed his own modern music ensemble “NAIL” with whom he has produced 4 discs, the most recent entitled “Tugging at The Infinite”. After a 5 year hiatus NAIL returned to the stage with a performance at the Hudson Valley Jazz Festival  in the summer of 2015, and continues to perform around the region.

Neil's other projects include an acoustic trio, Solo performances (both acoustic and/or electronic) and “Scene Re-seen”, live electronic scoring of silent films. In addition, Neil also teaches Master Classes in Synthesizer Programming and Music Performance Technology. Neil Alexander is currently endorsed by Moog Music.
