White Christmas (Bing Crosby) - A christmas cover song

"White Christmas" is an Irving Berlin song reminiscing about an old-fashioned Christmas setting. According to the Guinness World Records, the version sung by Bing Crosby is the best-selling single of all time, with estimated sales in excess of 100 million copies worldwide. Irving Berlin composed according to ASCAP 812 songs, with 451 hit singles. In 1998 ASCAP published the information that White Christmas is the most successful Christmas carol of all times, having 500 different versions world-wide. In 2001 RIAA put this song on number two of the list "Songs of the Century".

In this cover version I sang both the lead vocals and the three-voiced backing vocals. Although the instrumental track is similar to the original version, I intentionally sang it "in my own style" without bothering to come close to Bing Crosby's version.

White Christmas ist der Titel eines von Irving Berlin komponierten Weihnachtslieds. Die Version von Bing Crosby, gilt nach dem Guiness Buch der Rekorde mit geschätzten 100 Millionen verkauften Singles als die meistverkaufte Single aller Zeiten. Der Komponist Irving Berlin verfasste der ASCAP zufolge 812 Songs, von denen 451 zu Hits wurden. Die ASCAP veröffentlichte im Jahre 1998 eine Mitteilung, wonach White Christmas das erfolgreichste Weihnachtslied aller Zeiten sei mit weltweit 500 unterschiedlichen Versionen. Es wurde im Jahre 2001 von der RIAA auf Platz Zwei in die Liste Songs of the Century aufgenommen.

In dieser Coverversion habe ich die Haupt- und dreistimmigen Backing-Vocals gesungen. Die Instrumentalmusik ist dem Original ziemlich ähnlich, ich habe auch diesen Song jedoch bewusst auf meine eigene Art gesungen, ohne auf irgendeine Ähnlichkeit zur Version von Bing Crosby zu achten.
