When I teach children to play piano or sing, I offer them improvisation right from the beginning. I wish I was taught that way, since until recently I had hard times to relax and believe in my ability to create my own music.
I've recorded several albums in the recent years: my ambient album, the album with my piano improvisations, two collaborative piano albums with Stephan Beneking and the debut album with my original songs.
I'm glad you stepped by into my musical world and appreciate your comments and following me.
The recording, mixing and mastering is done by my husband. He is also co-writing some lyrics with me and generating ideas about the arrangement of my songs. Answering some technical questions: we use Korg SP-250 keyboard for recording most of the time and sometimes my digital piano (Yamaha Clavinova).
Shortly after publishing the pure piano piece, I got a message from Philip Bridle. Philip wrote that the moment he heard the music, he rushed for pen and paper and the words just fell out of the pen. I truly admire Philip's songwriting skills, what was initially just a mere piano improvisation, turned into a song.
Lyrics by Philip Bridle

The days fading out ....before our eyes....
After believing.... that we were so wise,
Shadows are playing upon the walls,
Seems too soon..to lose it all.....

Flickering candle... there was magic in the air,
But now a stillness..... you are not there,
It's burning ever lower.. 'till night meets the dawn,
Fading dreams waver... as hearts are now torn.

Deepening shadows... therein we find,
Images so hidden, so deep in the mind...
The candle burns lower... a vanishing flame...
The light in your eyes... reflecting the same.

Awakening sun... painting dawn in the sky...
While morning stars... fading and die,
As the silent candle, with nothing to say,
The dancing shadows... are slipping away.

Impatient days fade before our eyes,
They all thought.. that we were so wise...
The light from the candle.. waltzes no more...
Only the distant echo... of a closing door.

We decided to go with the brass this time. The last time I used some brass (except for sax) in my compositions was about a month ago when I was asked to compose a piece in the style of old swinging jazzy 20s. This time Arty asked to do something epic, so we chose orchestral trombones and horns. Then came the idea to overlay the flute and finally Arty added some bass line and made the mix. It all took about two hours, so it's not fully polished. Still, wanted to share this side-step experiment.

When I'm awake at night
And distant voices call me,
Hold me, even if I fight... (in the endless night)

And if I could I might
Forget you ever told me
How I'm free to leave your side... (into the endless night)

Wishing I could cry
For the love that died
On that endless night...

When I'm away from light
You let the shadows guide me,
Find me, make me run inside... (from the endless night)

And if I could I might
Forget you ever told me
How you wish to spend your life... (in the endless night)

Wishing I could cry
For the love that died
On that endless night...

So if you hear me sigh,
Don't let the silence fool you.
Pull me close with all your might ... (in the endless night)

Endless night, I forget my pride
For the last and never ending night...
Deepest dive, can't believe that I
Live this endless lie...

Wishing I could cry
For the love that died

This song was supposed to be kind of a "New Year" song but we haven't had enough time to finish recording it on time. So, it turned into a "Birthday" song for my beloved husband. After all, "Birthday" is a personal "New Year". Happy New Year everyone!

Please check out some low-budget video that we created today for the song: http://youtu.be/Wl1VaYf62Jk

-----------
Riding through the storms of life with you,
Watching the Dream come true.
There's nothing to hold me back from you.

Wilder ride won't spoil the snowy view,
Since I'm in love with you.
Each year is newer New.

Make it fresh, sparkle in the light,
Enjoy the sight!
Make a wish! Magic of the night
Will change your life.

Sliding from the heights of my deep blue
Back in your arms I flew,
There's nothing to hold me back from you.

Finding less of old and more of new,
When I'm in love with you.
Each year is newer New.

Make it fresh, sparkle in the light,
