Our Birthdays have been linked since I showed up, as his was/is June 22. Toss in Father’s Day and it was always a calendar highlight. I am honestly not afraid, per say, of death. After all, that is the big question everyone is faced with throughout their lives on this planet. And you can add me to the list that attests “they” have all been correct warning that it does pass rapidly, the 50th was when that solidified in my brain, as it certainly feels more like 5 years ago than 20. Out of all the things I’ve watched, read or listened to regarding the subject I believe Albert Brooks may be the closest to it with his brilliant film, “Defending Your Life.” Every year I pull it out for a viewing and like the best records in my collection, it only improves with age. I just hope Rip Torn is available to be my lawyer.
