Matthew Magic

Born and raised in New York, Matthew Magic is a 23 year veteran psychedelic music DJ, producer, label owner and event organizer. Matthew's relationship with electronic music began back in early 1993 at the infamous NASA in downtown Manhattan. During that time he was influenced by the deeper sounds of Moby, Orbital, Aphex Twin, Vapourspace, Plastikman, Irresistible Force, Source Experience, Braincell, Frankie Bones, Reade Truth, Heather Heart, Jason Jinx, Micro and Dave Trance. Soon after he began street promoting for Long Island's infamous Caffeine nightclub where he met friend and confidante Michael "Blackwatch" Thomas. Together the two formed "Island Vibe Network" and began organizing illegal warehouse events in New York's tri-state area.

In early 1995, Matthew co-founded New York City's first groundbreaking goa-trance event company, Tsunami Productions, whose legendary acid parties helped launched the east coast psychedelic-trance culture. As Tsunami resident DJ and music director, Matthew hosted and shared the stage with such global talents as Juno Reactor, Hallucinogen, X-Dream, KoxBox, Tsuyoshi Suzuki, GMS, Total Eclipse, Slinky Wizard, Son Kite and Green Nuns of the Revolution, to name a few.

As the millennium came to a close, Matthew retired the goa/psy-trance format, ended his involvement with Tsunami Productions and laid the Matthew Magic moniker to rest.
