acid and acidcore was a bit of an unlikely alliance for me. when i was buying hardcore in the 90s i carefully avoided those records that were listed as "acidcore" or "hard acid" in the catalogues. the sound was just too repetive to me; too similiar, "not much going on in these tracks", etc.
when the first hype of experimental and breakcore was over, my resistance slowly started to weaken. i got into drop bass network, force inc, dj.ungle fever... daria blax sent me a "mixtape" with her favorite acid and hard acid tracks and i fell completely in love with this sound; i went to a techno revival party which was really rare a thing in those days, and noticed how powerful acidic techno could be in a dark club on the dancefloor.
i started to produce acidcore myself and this is what got me "off the ground" in the hardcore scene, with the release of the acid massacre EP on black monolith.
just the beginning of a producer love with acid, and even when i produced in other genres like doomcore, i always took care to do 1-2 acidcore tracks too at that time
this is a mix with tracks from the beginning of my acid activities till now.
