STAN K STINKS UP THE LOW NOISE STABLE

Low Noise Productions is pleased to announce a new EP from Montreal-based noise/experimental artist Stan K. First Point is available now from all major digital outlets, with a limited-run cassette to follow in June.

Stan K tracks have appeared on previous label’s compilations - Ambivalent (2016) and Low Noise Compilation 4 (2016). He’s also contributed remixes to releases by Intangerines (‘Killer Parents,’ 2016) and Transmit (’Never Understand’, 2016).

With First Point, Stan K consolidates a sound that combines claustrophobic electronics with more spacious nightscapes. The titular first track is fidgety. Insectoid scrapes swarm around buzz saw drones, before morphing into the seething pneumatic textures of ‘Boil’. ‘Dirt Cheatin’ Buster’ opens up a conversation between drum machines and squelching feedback, while ‘That Gang’ takes a more angular route into the shadows. ’Point Eight or Nine’ caps off the EP with a return to the searing tones of the opener, but now over a slow-churning drone, like electric hum turned liquid.
