Liquid Phonk present another truly sophisticated soulful house groover, a fine, timeless release for delicate dancers and music lovers including lush remixes by Henry L & Ingo Sanger and John Gazoo.

Since the turn of the millennium Liquid Phonk has stood for proper house productions. Over many hours of countless studio sessions Mirko Koenig and Patrick Lesser from the South- West of Germany have formed their very own style and sound.
Their first public appearance was on Patrick Lindsey’s former label “School Records” back in 2000 followed by further EPs until 2004.

After it was getting quiet around Mirko and Patrick, they raised Liquid Phonk back to the surface. Rainer Trueby took notice of their releases on Nick Humphrey’s label “Lifted Digital” and managed a split-release alongside the Cologne producer Sello on “Compost Black Label” in 2012 with their track “Heart & Soul”. Several releases and remixes followed on labels such as Ingo Sänger’s “Farside Records”, “Lost My Dog” and “Something Different”. With the “hardboogie-remix” of Shahrokh Dini’s track “Bechno”, Liquid Phonk returned to Compost Black Label in 2015. In 2016 they are starting with their first solo EP on this label, supported by two stunning remixes by Henry L & Ingo Sänger and John Gazoo.

Artist: Shahrokh Dini
Title: Compost Black Label #123 - Bechno EP
Cat No: CPT 465-1
Format: 12" / Digital
Release: 30. January 2015

Tracklisting:
Side A
A1 „Bechno“ (Michael Reinboth Remix) (6:48)
A2 „Bechno“ (Original) (6:47)

Side B:
B1 „Bechno“ (Liquid Phonk Hardboogie) (7:56)

Info:
Shahrokh Dini dropped the highly acclaimed „Shayan“ – 12“ last year, here comes his next sure shot! After a long break of studio work Michael Reinboth is back on the production side and remixes. Seems in top form, as well as Liquid Phonk, who have had a Compost Black Label 12“ release (#98) in 2013, and great EPs on Farside and Lost My Dog Rec. in 2014.

After his highly acclaimed album Dripping Point in 2009, his first very own Tacky Dream EP and a nice remix for Marbert Rocel on Compost Black Label, Teheran (Iran) born DJ & producer Shahrokh Dini finally is back with a new 12“. For this EP, he teamed up with production mastermind Jan Krause from Beanfield.
Besides the album and some 12”s on Compost, Shahrokh’s release history is spiced and bottled with lots of good house music on labels like MoodMusic, KID Recordings, BBE, People That Make The Music, Strictly Rhythm, Ministry Of Sound and others. He’s also working on remixes for Yoruba’s Gabriele Poso and for BAR’s “White Noise” on Italic Rec.

As DJ, Shahrokh is resident in Karlsruhe’s Mood since more then a decade and recently got a new residency at “Trust” in Berlin. He usually spends the summer time in the southern territories of Europe, thus he usually takes part in the (Off-) Sonar Festival in Barcelona, ADE in Amsterdam and the party circus of Ibiza every year, also Dubai & Miami. Further he’ll be hosting parties in his home town Karlsruhe, such as After Art or events for ZKM.

Liquid Phonk was established in 1999 by Patrick Lesser and Mirko Koenig. When Patrick performed his first live act at a large private party, Mirko (who played a DJ set at same party) noticed him and the two decided to try working together in the studio.

In fact, the co-operation between the two worked very well on the first attempt, although they both preferred different kinds of electronic music. Little by little they formed a common style and soon the first demo CD was finished, which they handed over to Patrick Lindsey after a party night. A few months later, Patrick and Mirko had a record deal in the bag, which they owed to the title "Daydreamer". In Summer 2001, only two years after Mirko and Patrick met, they finally released the very first Liquid Phonk vinyl on Patrick Lindsey's SCHOOL Records label, followed by the second release one year later. The last release was on Lindsey's new label, IDPL.
After putting the project on hold for a few years, both Mirko and Patrick, went their own musical way (Mirko founded the DJ team 'Deepkins' with his old friend Christoph Shane and Patrick had a few techno releases on Bangbam, Labil and May Recordings). The two have now renewed their musical bond, and jointly, with renewed vigor and sound, there are various planned releases on Lifted Digital, Foul & Sunk and Compost Black Label.
The three tracks on the EP all bring a shuffling underground quality with a smattering of vocals in the title track. Pete Dafeet provides a remix which, as the ‘Deep Rhythms’ title suggests, sees him getting deep into a groove along with some touches of tribal percussion.

Originally established in 1999, Liquid Phonk, the German duo of musician Patrick Lesser and DJ Mirko Koenig, found early success with releases on Patrick Lindsey’s SCHOOL Records. After putting the project on hold for a few years, Liquid Phonk returned in 2013 with music for Compost and Lifted Digital and now join Lost My Dog with their Stomp Your Love EP.

The three tracks on the EP all bring a shuffling underground quality with a smattering of vocals in the title track. Pete Dafeet provides a remix which, as the ‘Deep Rhythms’ title suggests, sees him getting deep into a groove along with some touches of tribal percussion.

We are happy to welcome Patrick & Mirko aka Liquid Phonk on Farside Records . Since their latest productions on Compost, Something Different and Foul & Sunk Records, we are hooked on the astonishing warm & beautiful House vibe from these guys. The “Missing You EP” is no exception in this case. Two beautiful variations of the title track “Missing You” , two dope remixes by our friends Sello & Replika , plus a whole new hypnotic groover called “Like The Moon” rounds up a perfect package. This is the sound of sexy soulful music.

“Missing You (Liquid Phonk Edit)” is a warm & soulful masterpiece with a dope old school sounding percussion groove and features the voice of singer Patricia Edwards . The Liquid Phonk guys re-edited their Original Version and transferred the tune even more into a melancholic soulful monster. The haunting chords, the wonderful melody and the vocal parts harmonize just perfectly. “Deep” might be the exactly matching term describing this beauty.

The “Missing You (Sello Remix)” comes along with a little more raw & B-Boy alike attitude. Düsseldorf´s Sello adds a killer bassline, a fat groove and once again proves his skills to be just a damn cool producer. Take a little bit of dopeness, add a beautiful song and get ready for a bouncing low-key pumping club tune. Funky enough!

It is no secret that Farside is also known for some slower takes on House music. The latest example is Liquid Phonk ´s track “Like The Moon” with its 110 bpm sexy hypnotic groove. Once again these guys are full of soul, with the vocal samples, chords & a classic piano melt into something very special. We are moved kind of deeply.

For your Digital enjoyment, we like to announce two extra tunes: The sexy & funky “Missing You (Original)” with an even more percussion based groove and the full vocal of Patricia Edwards .

Last, but not least “Missing You (Replika Remix)” is something for the funky headz out there. The great Replika , straight out of Solothurn, Switzerland adds a punchy kick and a boogie funk attitude. Maybe this is the secret weapon of this whole package.

Maybe this is the secret weapon of this whole package.</itunes:summary>

Several releases and remixes followed on labels such as Ingo Sänger’s “Farside Records”, “Lost My Dog” and “Something Different”.
