Steely Dan has always held a special place in rock history. A place in the shadow of those icons that everyone knows because, in this great Barnum that is the music industry, you have to show off, show off, show off. All that Donald Fagen and Walter Becker have always refused to do, fleeing the stage and the objectives. And the rare photos of the band, often late, are so insignificant that they don't leave a lasting impression on our memory. So Steely Dan, it's not something to look at, it's something to listen to. It's also played, but not by everyone. It's not the first garage band that comes along and plays Steely Dan songs at your high school party. Playing Steely Dan takes skill and talent. A lot of talent. You have to know how to play jazz and mix it subtly with soul and pop until you get a sound production of a perfection that some people find disturbing.

And yet, despite this image deficit and musical complexity, the more time passes, the more Steely Dan imposes itself as a major band in the history of rock thanks to its incredible offspring. Their descendants come from America but from all over America: the United States, Canada, Brazil. And then from Europe. Northern Europe especially but not only. The band also has offspring in France! Whether it's the time of a song, an album or an entire career, whether they simply have a family resemblance or a flagrant resemblance to their model, these musicians have Steely Dan's DNA in them and perpetuate the spirit of the band, even though it no longer exists since Walter Becker's death in 2017. The influence of the band is such that Steely Dan continues to be created and that is simply out of the ordinary. Enjoy!
