What impressed us a lot during the making of this third episode is the incredible ability of these artists to evolve through time. They easily faced the musical trends du jour nearly reinventing themselves.
Somehow for some of them it wasn’t so easy especially for those who saw it more as a commercial screwing standpoint.
Henri Salvador’s voice and talent never sounded so good in an Aor environnement. This collection also features other French crooners including Herbert Leonard who made an awesome cut in the Jarreau/hey vein. Somehow it’s not understandable that these gems are not widely known amongst French music lovers because it’s really the musical high level we can get here. Oops we did it again to insert some Wally badarou’s sideman sessions for Alain Chamfort which were a big hit in 1981 in France.
With this third opus, The historic scope is quite complete with a selection picked from the early 70’s to our present time. It was signifiant to us to include major figures from the French rock movement as the late Jacques Higelin, and gave also a stage to Yves Simon.
We are happy because this volume reflects a part from the three of us.
And we can really join forces to give you the finest of this wonderful journey through what resulted here from the obvious American musical influence we are still feeling nowadays. Undeniably.
