DJ Scottie Soul moved to Maui in 1992. After playing for years with Galaxy 2000 crew in Maui at all the outdoor parties scottie started playing outside of Hawaii including playing in San Francisco in 1996 at the Stompy parties, the Top, the End Up, for M3 and the Green Gorilla parties, the Sunset parties with Galen and Solar and the Stud with Spun.
Scottie got the bug to play around the world bumping his unique style he acquired from playing with amazing talent such as Mark Farina, John Howard, Miles Maeda, Spun and the legendary Harry Who. Scottie started playing more on Oahu and the move happened in 1999. Immediately gaining residencies at The Wave Waikiki, Kids Klub, the W Hotel, The Maze, Lips, Djing with Quadraphonix, Radio show on 105.9 KAHA. At the same time Mr. Soul started DJing in Japan and began playing at legendary LOOP club, Velfarre, and Womb.
Scottie then played for the Millennium party with Carl Cox in Waikiki for 20,000 people. The next year was all about touring. He spent three months playing San Francisco, Germany and Spain. In Germany he was on tour with Plastik Funk’s Rafael and Mikio where we played legendary clubs in Cologne, Bremen, Krefeld, Dusseldorf, Berlin and Hamburg. Another month was spent playing in Barcelona at legendary clubs Ottozutz, and Dj Tres Manos’s La Macarena.
After several months on the road, scottie decided to move back to Portland in 2005. Scottie played at 1201 for the epic Sunday ritual. Then Portlands hot spot OM. Soon Scottie needed to throw parties so his DJ friends would have a spot to throw down so he and business partner Ravi created the best Thursdays NOIR. Portland proved to be the right place and is now again called home. Scottie is currently Producing under both Scottie Soul and Pelvis and produced his own Soulslide mix on “Watcha Want” with legendary producer B. McCarthy on Tony and Onionz sublabel Memento Recordings, additional tracks out on his own Swing on This Recordings and soon to be Pelvic Movement Productions.
