Dance energy," Brett says. "I want people on the dance floor to experience the story of my sets and completely forget about themselves."
The groove runs deep, as there was no better teacher for the 13-year-old (Martin Geisler) back then than his own drums.
Accompanied by the metronome and armed with sticks, he trafficked his drum kit with passionate dynamism. "The fascinating effect of beats and rhythm began to hypnotize me more and more," he says. "With increasing control over his movements, he thus internalized the build-up of tension by means of groove -today the supporting element in all his live&dj sets.
His sets are distinct arrangements, pointed throughout with freaky samples and varying rhythms. Deep but always funky dry bass lines provide constant thrust and are flanked by driving snappy beats.
Brett continuously uses vocals and hall surfaces, varying them from short to long and spicing them up with dirty, sometimes clean beats.
The stark contrasts provide the unique tension-building of his productions and live sets.
