Just Across the Lake

Glimpses of the sun between the branches
As we’re standing close to the lake
The vibrating air filled with voices
And music with an unusual rate

Suddenly we’re drawn into the picture
The landscape will come awake
Such a different light
Just across the lake

And we know we’ll be forgiven
At this somewhat confusing feast
Happy people gathering
On the grassy beach

And the sun slowly sinking

The soothing sound of all the laughter
A mystic feeling of being safe
You’re telling me you have decided
It’s really here you’d like to stay

And still we remain in the picture
The landscape will stay awake
It’s such a different light
Just across the lake

And we know we’ll be forgiven
At this somewhat confusing feast
Happy people gathering
