THE BORING STUFF..

At last we finally have this up on here. In total this mix has taken us 3 days to compile and upload, the last 5 hours of that have been utter torture with all the soundcloud uploading problems, re rendering and then rewriting this.

So anyway…..here is our/my first non themed mix in almost 2 years, we’ve kinda avoided doing mixes with current tracks as these days every tom, dick and harry (styles) is stringing together 16 deep house tracks and uploading it somewhere. BUT…

Seeing as we’ve been lazy, a bit ill, been to a cup final and unable to think of a theme to research for a ‘proper’ podcast (we’re also going on holiday) we elected to try to make a VERY LONG one and maybe that could be our ‘theme’, so we’ve strung together 35 tunes in what we think is a great order, there is a mix of various types of dance music, some thrash metal, some 80′s AOR and a choir.

Being only 13 at the time it was really only stuff that reached the charts that i ever go to hear and so on one of the many trips i made to the town’s Our Price record store i seen Starlight - Numero Uno sitting in the racks, you couldn’t really miss is its was bright yellow, pretty soon it became the first 7” i ever bought.
In this podcast i wanted to include lots of myself, if that makes sense, with the records i bought, sadly they are fairly obvious ones, but i also thought i’d put some records that i missed that are now called classics and some that i discovered in the past few days. A few things to note from this mix,

1. For one we were all in the midsts of what we were being told was THE WORST STORM EVER TO HAPPEN TO THE UK. In actual fact it wasnt that bad, but loads of people decided not to risk leaving the house so we ended up having the quietest Killer Kitsch for 4 years. The crowd that were there though were fucking amazing and i actually enjoyed DJ'ing the night (Usually quiet nights depress the hell out me)

2. We were using a rotary mixer, i'll try not to bore you here but its much less forgiving than a normal/modern mixer. The sounds coming out the back of the mixer compared to the sounds we hear coming out the monitors is vastly different cause The Buff Clubs monitors are REALLY compressed. So there is some unexpected level changes in this mix, but to us in the club at the time it sounded fine.

3. There is some god awful mixing and some right fuck ups in this mix, but you know what ? I really dont care. I was having a blast at the time.

4. Its only an hour and half long as we tried to add in some crowd atmosphere by putting a mic beside the booth but due to lack of crowd and the fact that halfway through the night the mic fell down (i had balanced it up against the wall and one of those weird mirrors that are in the club).......so this entire mix is just out the back of the mixer with no crowd (Now go back to point 2)
