Hip house, also known as rap house or house rap, is a musical genre that mixes elements of House Music and Hip Hop.

1987 is officially the year of birth of the third genre of House Music, also produced in the city of Chicago. In truth, Acid House had begun before the official 1987 though mare as experimental tests, recorded by DJs/Producers on cassette, who used the Bass Synth “Rolland TR 303” trying to learn how to use it. One above all was DJ Pierre that together with Earl Smith Jr and Herbert Jackson formed the project Phuture and created the track “In Your Mind”. Recorded 1986 on cassette and given to Ron Hardy to play at the Music Box in Chicago where he was the resident DJ. He played it 4 times that night. Those immature squirrely sounds were a bit unusual and only at the fourth play the audience went wild and in ecstasy. Ron Hardy labelled it as “Acid Tracks”, so Phuture decided to issue it under this title. According to DJ Pierre the “Acid” in the title was referenced to LSD as this drug was a popular drug in the clubs. Therefore it was not a reference to the sound of the Roland TR 303.
The first on vinyl produced acid track was "I've Lost Control" in 1987 from Sleezy D.
The so called “Acid House parties” got soon forbidden due to the abuse of synthetic drugs. This made the subcultural movement become underground moving from the clubs to abandoned industry halls in the outskirts suburbs of the city. These illegal secret parties swapped over the pound to Great Britain becoming Raves which were usually open air parties in farms far away from cities. They called these events “The second summer” referring to the illegal first summer event of the flower power movement in 1968.

New York and New Jersey were famous for their Soul disco and funky Music which was mostly played in the discos and clubs in that aria.
In Manhattan (New York City), to that time Larry Levan was mixing songs like D-Train, Loretta Holloway and lots of Salsoul records at the” Paradise Garage”. Not so far away, in the neighbour city New Jersey, Tony Humphries was also giving great musical impulses at the “Zanzibar”.
Like Chicago gave the name to the musical movement called House, thanks to the club “Warehouse”, New York gave the name Garage Music thanks to the club “Paradise Garage”.
Garage Music was an indication of the music played in that location thanks to the well selected tracks and fantastic sound system cured personally by Larry Levan.
The sounds were still soulful but mixed in the perfect way that gave the clubbing nights a complete different touch. They called it “The Jersey Sound” or the “Garage Disco”.
The genre “Garage” was still not born but the movement was already burning.
Judge Jay will take you on a trip back to the period when Garage was still not a genre put the music played in the Paradise Garage inspired producers to create the genre Garage House which confronting to the music played before the birth of the genre, it seemed to be an evolution of Soul more than a form of house music.

Music historians typically trace house music to the Chicago club called the “Warehouse”.
To that time it was indicating the type and style of dance music played by Djs in that club. The style of the Warehouse was new and the public was so enthusiastic that they named it House Music thanks to many Chicagoans Djs & producers like Farley "Jackmaster" Funk, Ron Hardy and Frankie Knuckles named “Godfather of House”.
The New Yorker “Larry Levan” also figured in early house music.
House Music as a genre was still not born though tracks were already produced because the producers didn’t have an idea which genre they were producing. Important was that it sounds good and it got the people dancing. They created continuous dance grooves by splicing together records with a steady four-on-the-floor pulse, which means the repeating of kicks and sounds every 4beats. The tempo was ranging from 120 to 130 beats per minute which was faster than that what the American record industry was producing to that periode. Roland and Korg where the mainly used instruments that allowed to produce at home instead of using expensive studios and that’s why it got the term “House Music” that later became a genre.
Other big names were Mr. Lee, Jesse Saunders, Jack Master Silk, Chip E., Marshall Jefferson and Larry Heard also known as Mr. Fingers.
Since the 1980s, house music has been one of the most popular forms of dance music. House music quickly spread beyond Chicago, becoming the soundtrack to raves in London, Sheffield, and the Spanish island of Ibiza.
In Detroit, it inspired a closely related genre called Detroit techno. A collective called the Belleville three who were Juan Atkins, Derrick May and Kevin Saunderson who began combining Chicago house with electro-pop from European groups like the German Kraftwerk.
In New York and New Jersey, a prominent house scene sprung up in the nightclubs “Paradise Garage” and “Zanzibar”, led by DJ Larry Levan and Tony Humphries, though the most popular was the Paradise Garage in New York’s Manhattan where Larry Levan gave his version of house music called Garage House.

Dicevo che oggi la nostra Dj Ross-Ella fa gli'anni (non importa quanti :D) ed ho voluto fargli un mixino all'insegna del suo stile molto tutti frutti. Gli ho tolto il "tutti" rimpiazandolo con "molti" frutti creando un mix molto tec ed eletronic dance.

The 80's. An absurd decade. The beginning of this decade was dominated from American music; from 83 onward we could observe a successful breaking through of European dance music. Great Britten with its new wave, industrial. Underground and electro pop and Italy with its Italo dance. A totally sub cultural decade with its different music, trends and fashion.
This mix is dedicated mostly to the European musical dance productions. They were so many that I had to force my self to stop after two and a half hours. I could have done many more. Impulse and inspirations gave me an incredible flash back. I hope you like my mix.
