Profile description of Juan Jaramillo:

Between the sheets of a 2/4 merengue rhythm and wide-range of a 4/4 tech house beat, Canadian/Colombian Producer, DJ, and Radio Show Host Juan Jaramillo aka GMoney has bridged his career with a multi-faceted passion for music. Early days as a radio personality within the Latino community led to acclaimed status as his reverberations became well received across North America via airwaves. Corroborating these experiences into his productions, Juan fuses warmth in Iberican sound with the raw essence of rolling tech house beats.

Unique and wholehearted as Juan’s appetite for music is the story behind his uprising. His father owned an after hours night club in the down town core of Toronto. Bringing home vinyl on a regular, the eldest of the Jaramillo boys became mesmerized by music. Passions running blood deep, his introduction to salsa, disco, and rock transpired into the obvious. By the age of twelve Juan found himself accompanying his father on excursions to the night club. “I was compelled by the hypnotic force that music had- the gusto and enthusiasm. There was something about seeing the effect it had on people that made me want to do it. I’m glad I did because this is where my journey began”.

Jaramillo cultivated a better understanding of music by listening to radio. Days turned to nights and falling asleep with the system turned up was something happening on a regular. The influence of radio on his young and impressionable subconscious would later give rise to acclaim his status. Hosting shows on Caliente 530 AM, Fuerza Latina 88.5 FM, and his Super Latin Hits on Energy 108 FM, Latino music listeners across Canada were enthralled and regarded Juan a North America’s top Latino DJs and radio show host. Evolving from this came the opportunity for Juan to showcase his skills as a DJ playing a different style of music. House, classic hard techno, and deep Latin tribal tech ripped across the Global Groove airwaves for 6 years making G’s Grooves on Global Groove 100.7 a massive success.

Juan Jaramillo’s style today is a fresh spin off the platters of the first set of Technique 1200’s given to him when he was just twelve. A unique blend of warm swaying rhythms and Afro-Cuban percussions emulating his early days establish the erotic body constituting his music. Combined with the relentless drive of a cavernous kick, his hot sauce of sounds pleasures the hungriest of musical appetites.

Jaramillo performed throughout Toronto’s most exciting days in music history. The energy radiating through his music has been heard in all major staple night clubs across the city over the past couple decades. The Guvernment, Aria, Living Room, Phoenix, Fluid, Exit, Life, Mad Bar, Power Bar, The Docks, Limelight, Meow, Oz, Delux, Plastique, Ivory, Bauhaus, Joker, and LA Hollywood have all felt Jaramillo’s vibes pulsing out from their DJ booths.

Amidst the full-blown success in Toronto’s house music scene, Juan has opened for legendary electronic dance music artists such as Erick Morillo, Harry 'Choo Choo' Romero, Paul Oakenfold, Jellybean Benitez, Jose Nunez, Derrick Carter, Bob Sinclar, Richard F, Green Velvet, Carl Craig, Honey Dijon, Sandy Rivera, and Max Graham. He has also made his presence known in mainstream culture kicking off concerts for Latin Superstars Ricky Martin, Marc Anthony, Enrique Iglesias.

In recent years his blood deep passion for music has spawned the urge to dabble into music production and create his signature sound. Signed to Red Drum Ltd. (Spain), Soulfreak (Spain), I Bounce Records (Portugal), and JG Records (Canada) Juan Jaramillo’s born talent into music will continue to flourish with endless boundaries.
