The scenario of Bloodhound is rather simple: Private dick Abel Walker (Ed Ackerman) was looking for a dame who has withdrawn the action disappears, and he brings his cameraman, Jim (David Foy), to document the whole sordid affair. As nauseating plot, we find them dudes balls deep in the swirling poison twists, turns, and murder.

While the plot sounds simple, the actual picture is anything but. Writer / director Jason Richard Miller has created a unique animal in ol'biz our horror; a heady mix of film noir (including narration everywhere using genre), found footage and faux documentary.

This technique makes the audience feel that we are actually part of a high-stakes investigation Walker, and everything works pretty damn well. Adding a dependable "common people" Ackerman performance that really made us invest in our hero's suffering ... one that may be far beyond the scope to compete with.

Another element I enjoy movies slick '80s style synth-heavy soundtrack. This gives another movie seems different elements that just ended work somehow. Recognized music works against the basic conceit titch, but regardless it gives the film a much more unique flavor.

On the downside, if you can not stand the dirt-ton hand holding a cinematic visual and aesthetic that was shot on the fly then you will have a greater obstacle to overcome in your enjoyment of this one than most ... but even if the style found footage the film is not your bag, I would still encourage you to give it a fair shake.

Bottom line; Bloodhound is a unique neo-noir, suspense filled affair managed to add a level of depth that makes the tension elements are much more personal.
