Profile description of Johnny Trombetta:

Bronx-born producer/DJ Johnny Trombetta has been spinning dance tunes for more than 20 years and produces resonant, energetic original works predominantly in the genres of techno and progressive house music.

Watching his cool uncle Rocco deejay in the 1990s planted the seed for what would be Johnny Trombetta's journey. "I was only 10 at the time but he would take me with him to gigs," he remembers. "And I would help him roadie and be his lighting tech."

Eventually, Trombetta got his opportunity to start practicing on the decks and eventually played his first live set at a private party when he was 12-years-old. He would eventually start his own DJ company at age 25 and tour clubs all over the tri-state area. "I lost count at 69 venues," he jokes.

Although he never received a formal music education, Trombetta has been fortunate enough to count producers Chris Travett, Victor Bruno, and Peter Macchia among his mentors. Bruno and Macchia were the producers of Aria's chart-topping Ti Amo, for which Trombetta provided remix duties, marking his first official release, in 2003.

Johnny Trombetta has seen his work released across three formats - vinyl, CD, and digital. He has produced radio content for New York's WKTU 103.5FM. He provided musical score for the 2007 indie film Doughboys. His works have been released on such labels as Sky-Hi Sounds, Micmac Records, Sektor Rekords, Oh Music!, and Play Records, among many others. In 2012, Trombetta was ranked 45th in Beatport's list of the Top 100 DJs.

Despite a long and varied journey, Johnny Trombetta shows no signs of slowing down.
