The 7 inch single was released in 1974. I was in 8th grade. For those living in Chicago at the time, WLS was the most often heard choice for radio. WLS catered to the predominantly 60's, 70's, country, Motown, pop, rock, easy listening, including rare findings like "Disco Duck", etc. Though I had not yet encountered "funk", i was slowly drifting into classic rock and disco which would later create a path for my career in music. I have developed an interest for classics that paved the way including this Grammy Award winning group Kool & The Gang which formed in 1964 and hail from New Jersey. While "Summer Madness" will always remain my favorite followed by "Open Sesame", I wanted to pay a humble funk tribute via tribal house mix with my own version. I added an intro and extended outro. Additional production via Platinum Notes and Mashup2, SoundForge and finally mastered thru LANDR. Finally, much of my info is verified thru WikiPedia. I made a small donation due to their continous efforts to remain ad-free. Please donate to Wikipedia. Timed at 5:22, 118bpm, 320kbps. Enjoy !
