*** this is another older piece that I brought over from SC.

I sat down and wrote a poem the other day...an idea formed in my head...and then another...until a little while later I had this story. I had no idea what to do with it. Was it meant to be lyrics? Was it meant to be spoken word? I really didn't know.

I sent them to Andreas (PessoaZ) and asked him if he would be interested in doing something with them...I was totally open to any suggestions that he had. Well, he is just amazing!! I sent him my "spoken word" as inspiration...and he created this musical world for my words to live in. There have been many variations...many different feelings...all mixed into this final piece. I think he just did a FANTASTIC job creating the exact "musical mood" that I needed to be able to recite these words.

The Girl with The Red Balloons

She sits alone and watches
All other pass her by
No one stops to question
The reason that she cries

She wears her heart upon her sleeve
For any that would care
But no one ever asks her
Or wonders why she's there

Emotions with nowhere to go
Just lost inside of her
Spilling out with every tear
Dying to be heard

She holds a lovely red balloon
It's beauty clear to see
Many wish to have it
But that just cannot be

She's the only one who has
These beautiful balloons
All others see their beauty
But they cannot own them too

She takes a pen and paper
And writes what's on her mind
Sometimes the note is wonderful
Sometimes it's not so kind

And when the notes are written
The balloons become their home
Tied so very tightly
They never fly alone

The emotions soar into the sky
The wind takes them away
Out of her...far from here
They quickly make their way

And for the souls who covet them
These beautiful balloons
Now tethered with emotions
They'll surely reach them soon

Lovely words of wisdom
Sad words of regret
Angry words of heartache
You don't know what you'll get

But if you are so tempted
When you see them in sky
That you grab them when they've landed
And you do not pass them by

Just know that those emotions
Are now attached to you
Whatever thoughts she felt that day
Now you will feel them too
