One week ago Fabio sent me an acoustic guitar piece with him singing this song. I had never heard it before. I thought it was really beautiful..and his voice sounded amazing on it. He shared a youTube link with me of their demo version which was pretty much piano and voice. Well, i LOVED it!! I searched the internet and, of course, I couldn't find any sheet music for it..but, not to be undone...I listened to the YouTube video over and over again..and learned this piano piece note by note, measure by measure...by ear! First time for me to do that!

Fabio then added his amazing voice and acoustic guitar! I threw in some background vocals and we sent it off to Antonio (Anmafean) so he could add a bit of himself as well and finish off the track.

I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. What a great experience! Another successful try!

I sat down and wrote a poem the other day...an idea formed in my head...and then another...until a little while later I had this story. I had no idea what to do with it. Was it meant to be lyrics? Was it meant to be spoken word? I really didn't know.

I sent them to Andreas (PessoaZ) and asked him if he would be interested in doing something with them...I was totally open to any suggestions that he had. Well, he is just amazing!! I sent him my "spoken word" as inspiration...and he created this musical world for my words to live in. There have been many variations...many different feelings...all mixed into this final piece. I think he just did a FANTASTIC job creating the exact "musical mood" that I needed to be able to recite these words.

A few weeks back I felt like writing something...so I sat down in my comfy chair before my son's baseball game and wrote the lyrics called "The In Between"...I posted these lyrics in two FB groups (the SoundCloud Campfire and also the HearThis group)...I invited anyone that wished, to have free reign with these lyrics and "create" if they were so inspired...

Well, I was truly humbled by all of the people that wished to create music with these words...all of them, a true gift to me!! They are all so very different and they show many different adaptations for these words...they also, I think, showcase each individual artists' "musical fingerprint"...

I had no intention of using these lyrics...I was simply enjoying watching all of the songs be "born". The other day Alexander Hallberg sent me some music and asked me if I would like to work on it...he felt it needed vocals...I listened to the music and found it very cool and "dark"...then I started playing around with my lyrics for "In Between"...and I found that they actually kind of "fit" this musical landscape...I didn't use "all" of the lyrics that I had written for this version as this "in between" is a bit of a darker place...

I never know how to categorize my piano…it's not really classical…it's not really "anything"…so I call it "other" :)

I am trying my best to figure out this whole garageband/production stuff…I am still not all the way happy with the piano sound as I think it still sounds kind of "hard" in places…but, it is what it is…a simple moment :)

I wrote these lyrics on the 07th of February 2012 after Stefan sent me the attached picture of the river Spree in Berlin. The song was originally born about a year ago. I still love this song and wished to share it here again, on HearThis :)

Quite fitting...the whole "Frozen" theme...in my world, we have been absolutely brutalized with winter weather...so, frozen indeed :(
