What do you want to convey through your art, and more specifically this set?

"Something I learned through meditation is also true for music: if you think you know it all, you’ve seen it all, you have to look a little closer and dig deeper. For me today (with so much noise going on around us), this translates to: yes, there is a lot of stuff, that calls itself art/music/innovation, there is a lot that wants your attention. But if you care to remain open, you will find the gems, the beauty in between the generic/commercial stuff. I am also glad to invite you into my listening journey and present to you what I found remarkable."

Is there a particular mood you find yourself in when crafting your art, and does that mood change over the course of this process?

"My process has been the same for the last 10 years. I listen to new releases every day. I ignore most of it. Over the course of weeks and months there will be certain tracks I can’t get out of my head, releases I just cannot get enough of. These make it to my shelf or hard drive. When it comes to mixing I have to be in the mood, free of obligations. So my mood is first: curiosity and scrutiny - take your time; my second stage is finding out how all this might work out together, letting the elements sink into their place. Third stage = actual studio time: quite spontaneous, fun, creative, jumping around. It’s always an experiment; if my assumptions from stage two do not work out, try again & repeat process."

What cause are you supporting? Is there a connection between your set and this cause?

"I chose as a charity something that is close to my heart, as my heart has always been close to the ocean. If there is one thing that makes me happy, it is water, waves, especially the sea. So donations should support "sea shepherd" and help them save lives in the sea. https://sea-shepherd.de/unterstuetze-uns/spenden/
I would like to help preserve its biodiversity and beauty. There is flow, an element of water in every DJ set, every dance floor. I hope there is also some diversity and the element of surprise in my mixes."

What is one record or work of art from the past, and one from today, that inspires you the most?

"The first two answers I could think of were the following, but there could be books, songs, architecture… this is a tough question as it contains a superlative… This selection is not final!
the past: „la haine“ by mathieu kassovitz, 1995
the present: The original soundtrack(s) to Westworld by Ramin Djawadi"
