Taken from one of my favorite Michael Franks album originally issued in 1977 : Sleeping Gypsy, in which Michael Franks gave an outstanding tribute to Brazilian music, there was also included this very particular slow Funky jam played by an incredible cast of talented musicians such as a big part of the Crusaders (Joe Sample on Keys, Wilton Felder on Bass & Larry Carlton on the Bluesy Guitar riffs) plus Joe Guerin on Drums and David Sanborn who played an incredible Sax solo.
I have had much fun in working on a "back beat" and adding my French touch.
I wanted to accentuate this "Laptop dancer" kind of vibe that we can imagine in hearing the particular Funky rhythm of this masterpiece.
Please go buy and listen to the Sleeping Gypsy album, there are so many great tracks on it, and I am also thinking about revamping more from this one...
Michael Franks is one of my favorite artists of all time.
I love his music, his feeling, his natural and healthful life...
The latest album that Michael Franks released 2 years ago is called Time Traveller, and needless to say that it is also an incredibly good and peaceful album with such great tracks as Saint Tropez...
Hope you'll enjoy my humble work on this Michael Franks's anthem !
