Following 2013's 'The Process', trill.wav front man image is back with his sophomore effort, 'Loose Patterns'. Picking up where 'The Process' left off, 'Loose Patterns' shows a natural evolution of image's sound; whereas the former was often big and bassy, 'Loose Patterns' is crafted with a much more subtle tact, and teeming with nostalgic excitement. A1 brings "Make Me Feel', and with it, the intensity. Image shows a great understanding of his place in the continuum of dance music: lying somewhere between Zomby and Shadow Child, 'Make Me Feel' brings a percussive organ, a bassline Digital Mysticz would envy, and a break absolutely seething with raw dancefloor energy. The second cut, 'In The House', sees image use a classic garage mold to brilliant results; a wonderfully warm organ complemented by a soul sample makes for very satisfying listening experience. Closing the EP is the B-side, 'Ivory Towers', and it brings the most straight forward dance track, with thick harmonies punctuating a very Detroit-esque groove. With this newest record, image has firmly staked his claim in the dance realm as a force to be reckoned with.
