I set this delay's Tap Tempo right when I activate it. Then, I take the audio signal from the Cobalt 8 (via the Atlantic) into the Digitone's input, apply Elektron reverb, and that's it\u2014no extra delay or chorus added to the signal coming from my Cobalt-and-pedals chain.\r\nThe Digitone sends MIDI sync to the DL4 MK2 multi-effects unit to lock that Vintage Analog Delay to the tempo\u2014resulting in more effective, harmonious feedback for the next pedal in the chain, the NDR-5 Atlantic\u2014but it doesn't sync the Cobalt 8, which isn't sequenced anyway.\r\nSo, I start the Digitone's sequencer for the bassline right on the beat\u2014by ear!\r\nIt\u2019s not perfect; it\u2019s not robotically locked to a master clock, but it\u2019s more than enough to stay in time long enough to record the track!\r\n(right at the very end, the bass starts to drift slightly out of sync...)\r\nAs always, it\u2019s a DAWless jam\u2014improvised and played\/recorded in a single take: "Action... and cut!
