Millennium Jazz Podcast #7

Originally recorded for the Millennium Jazz Label in London in January 2013 as part of their Jazz Jousters Podcasts Series (mixcloud.com/MillenniumJazz/th...-7-by-dj-mr-lob), I thought it time that this went up on my page as well!. to do this.

I found it really hard to put this set together and made about 3 different sets before I settled on this one. I guess as I am predominantly a funk and soul dj, that started by spinning hip hop, that these elements are very strong in my track selection and in fact much of my love for jazz stemmed from hearing funky jazz, soul jazz and hip hop based on Jazz samples. I was also strongly influenced by the Acid Jazz movement in the early 90's and the Rebirth of Cool and Jazzmatazz releases in the 90's.

All this led me to delve deeper into Jazz and hence my session nears the end with some of the masters, Herbie Hancock and Miles Davis before going out with a bang with the Jazz Juice track 'The Kicker'.
