Mashbuk Progressive welcomes producer AxelPolo who brings us a magnificent single in collaboration with producer Hoof with a fantastic progressive impression with the simple 'Hudson' without doubt one of the producers of the old school bringing us a very energetic version adding Floating textures and warm melodies providing an ideal progressive trance for any dance floor, Incredibly beautiful to captivate you from the first listen.

On the remix duties Theoh & Alex Byrka.

We started with Theoh the American producer delivering the beautiful 'Hudson' without moving away from the Original track, adding waves and a real progressive take with a sensation bounce with a touch of electro.

The second is the Russian producer Alex Byrka with a soft bass line debuting with 'Hudson' bouncing with very energetic tones, with an impressive relaxed piano disconnect with very warm sounds and I think you'll agree. We can not wait to bring it back one more time.

Next up making his Mondo Records debut is Hoof, who delivers the spellbinding sounds of 'Sirendipity'.

Packed with all the hallmarks of a classic trance anthem, 'Sirendipity' delivers a killer rolling groove, lush melody, silky piano chords, and much more.

On remix duties we first have rising Mondo Records star Dark Echo, who takes the track down the more progressive route. Keeping the essence of the original alive, while adding that extra layer of phatness to the mix.

Rounding out this package comes a mix from Tim Verkruissen, who cranks up the tempo for a no nonsense way to finish this truly epic release. Huge!

A sweet competition at exportelitemusic.com/contest to remix the wonderful collaboration of upcoming Australian talented producer, musician and singer Tevlo and Canadian songstress, lyricist and producer Veela.

I liked the song and heard there could be a trance-ish interpretation of it. Slowed down and with a new arrangement, but still true to the original track.

In the end I only used the vocals and the midi for the piano. So there are some additional melodies and hooks, and hopefully this is a song to dance to, albeit there are two rather noticable breaks in there.

I really grew fond of this track and like the result. But listen for yourself :)
It is not really a song, nor a 'real' dance track. More a soundscape with a beat . But I still consider it as something that was created in an afternoon, that I am glad exists. Wondering how I made this up.
And now in a better, brighter, louder, punchier mix. And some minor changes. That is what happens, when you live and learn.

I got an excellent deal on UVI's Digital Synsations (for free, via the wonderful KVR newsletter), which contains my first synth, more or less, the Yamaha SY77. I used to try to make some 'house' on it 25 years ago. With the built-in sequencer, I felt like my studio was starting to grow.

I still love those early tracks, but I am surely the only one.

Playing with the sampled instruments from that original gear (like I did then), I quickly started building a groove. Could be input a future track, or maybe just the sound of great memories.

Ofcourse I did not have a classic singer at hand in those days, that is the sound of the excellent Vocalise I recently added to my tools. And I only wished I had a kick like this back then.

So I can only hope my peers get something out of it. I would want to dance to this. And I really like how it combines happiness, melancholia, uplift, melody, harmony and a sturdy beat.

I did choose the title because it sounds like 'bigger', which I wanted it to be. But then I found out the meaning in the dictionairy. That is actually quite right. I bicker with myself and my musical partner, until it is something we would dance to.

I got the track cover online. Another association, with the Dutch word 'bikken', which was done on each and every stone of the house I grew up in. Because it was built from stones that used to be another house. People came along and hacked the cement away, to make the stones reusable. All because of being friends, and getting good food and after work making music with those non-electric guitars. Which kind of closes the circle..

I was already working on some acid-ish stuff, while a wonderful short clip came along. Amoorah asked her boyfriend Paul how her alerts were sounding, according to him: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXD2nRa0Fd0

Pretty loud, apparently. So I worked this short conversation in this slightly annoying track. Because sometimes alerts are just a little intruding, or keep on coming and coming.

Like this track, that was fueled by Turn Up The Bass compilations with this hot new dance craze.. Aciiiiiid! And other early edm types of music. Which all started when I played a sound from the excellent Rounds synth by Native Instruments. And yesterday I found out there is finally a 64-bit version of Sylenth by the excellent Lennar Digital, so the roof blew up.

I uploaded it private, because people who's voices are in it should hear it first. But then the private link got out in the open. So to not make those links dead, I did a new upload, publicly.

Just for fun, and a tad bit from what I normally make. But hey, you can't take fun and play away from somebody.

My own voice is also in there (I don't think I need to write down the lyrics, it is 'Khaaaa!' a couple of times) and a voice sample that has it's origins in the Garageband presets. He says 'Gemini 4' and I fed it in the on-board vocoder of Logic as well.

It was an experiment, but suddenly people where bouncing around their living rooms, so I guess it invokes some kind of reaction.. Always good.

The track is now all over the place, after there was a post on a popular website: http://www.hoemannendenken.nl/2015/10/25/pling-zet-die-push-notifications-nou-eens-uit/

As with all the tracks I upload with a sketched cover, it is just fun in between other undertakings. But I can imagine this getting a live audience jumping around and singing along in a nice 140 bpm trance set.

I found a multitrack soundalike cover version of this song on Song Galaxy, to have some material to work with. There does exist a live recording of AC/DC performing this song, that has been used for remixes, but that takes ages to get to fit an electronic beat. This sounds very much alike, and it's just for good fun..

I have listened to my father's classical lp's all my early years. After discovering Jean-Michel Jarre I imagined that classical music could be combined with synthesizers and beats. But looking at the studio he had, this looked like a dream that would take a lot of time and money.

Well.. That proved to be true. But these days there is a studio right under my fingertips. A MIDI-keyboard within reach, and a lot of ideas and desires in my head.

Somehow I suddenly had the 'Mondschein Sonate' in my head and decided this was a great piece to mangle in modern electronics and beats.

I took the piano piece as a starting point and wrote all other parts from scratch. So all additional string parts (and of course the bouncing bases) can not be blamed on poor old Beethoven. And asking him for permission is beyond impossible (he is dead, and was deaf at the time).

I had so much fun making this. It might not be the last track that is inspired by dead composers.

16th of october I listen to this track in my car and I freak out, gently, but deep enough to get my hands on this track as soon as I was near my hardware.. I almost can't believe I thought it was finished earlier. Oh well, there was a lot of hard work in it, but in hindsight it sounded weak. Tonight I did a new mix and replaced it here. After doing lots of other things and attending quite a few gigs (and speaking to some dj's and producers) I heard that it was missing some edge, some punch. So I tried to make it better.

And waking up the next day, I again started fiddling knobs, tweaking stuff and what have you. Think it is now even punchier and, well. We'll see..

Tonight I was remixing the first track I put on Soundcloud, it was great. The first time I discovered I had a studio, right there under my hands, resulted in the original track 'US'.

Originally made in 2012, it now sounded like I was stumbling in a dim-lit cardboard box back then. I had to lift the lid and open up the windows. Dust off the old instruments, and shine a new light on something that has become stronger over the past few years.

US is still here, and it feels better than ever. I kept most of the original spirit, but it feels way stronger and deeper, with all that I have learned since then.

I originally made this track in Garageband, today I have so much more tools in my hands. But what matters most: I still know what I was feeling when I was trying to make the best of it, back then. And it only grew stronger.

I felt like I was playing forever with this track.. I was working on a painting with the same name (the upper right corner of the thing is featured on the track cover).

This track features some experiments for me. The strummed accoustic guitar by Native Instruments, as well as their new Emotive strings. But also the first time I use a (subtle) gradual tempo change to build up the orchestral break. And some experimenting with the noise gate and a tad more automation than I was used to. Oh, and chopping up a sample of the track inside the track to try a different kind of break/drop.

I did enjoy making this, hope you catch some of that joy while listening to it.

(after 1 day I replaced the file with a slightly tweaked mix because I realized there was some unnecessary muddiness and a distorted peak in the bass near the end and after two weeks I suddenly disliked the lower end and loudness.. So I replaced it.. Twice. Changed the kick and balance and mix and even the shirt I was wearing.)

10-8: This is the first track that has been professionally mastered by Monarch Mastering. Very pleased with the result! It now sounds great on all systems and has it's maximum potential uncovered. I will do this with all finished tracks from now on.

I heard an old track of mine from 2012 and wanted to see what my new knowledge, software and experience would improve on it. I guess it is better. It should be after 12 hours of tweaking and throwing away, adding and searching for the source of cracks.

I am not home yet, but I am getting there. If I still like it tomorrow, I might release this on iTunes and Spotify. Just for fun ofcourse.

24-2-14: Still room for improvement. Another pluck. Replaced the sidechained compressor and I filled in most notes that fell off the grid after accidentally moving ALL notes of the tracks instead of just one track earlier this past weekend.

24-23-2-14: Suddenly I heard an element that was missing and added. An old skool accent (made me think of Usura - Open you mind). And I changed some sounds. For me it is getting better.

20-2-14: Another day, another version. Time to let go of this thing. But then I will miss it.

18-2-14: tried my hand at an rythmic version of the melody in the second part (and I keep changing stuff all over the place)

17-2-14: Another new version. I changed the basslines and percussion after some inspiring tutorials onine and I am still not happy with the overall sonic picture. Searching for that thing that makes it what I love.

8-2-14: Went back and threw every single effect away. Back to what I was playing on my keyboard and what I was trying to get audible in the first place. Ear-shattering kick is nice, but I wanted to build a bass-oriented groove with melody. So that is how I got to this semi-final mix. Have to let it rest for some time now.

I don't mind missing a beat. I do mind missing you. Every single beat of my heart.

5-2-14: I wanted more kick, was bored of the strings and, I am not afraid of 138. Another version that skews the previous ones. And the kick feels more like the heart beating for the miss.

19-1-14: I wanted more drive and wanted to build on the parts that I like (and other people point out), so I removed some elements, made others bigger and put in a middle part that builds on the forward motion and anticipation of the buildup. Still changing snares, claps, hihats as well. And working that automation in more and more detail.

18-1-14: lots of changes (I put updates up here that disappeared), sounds, balance, mix, the Mangler, getting closer to a point where it could end being a work in progress. For a while..

1-1-14: I identified an annoying element while listening in the car. Changed it. Threw some elements around and enhanced the things that made me bounce.

12-1-14: Listened lots of times and changed the things that annoyed me. Some sounds, a loop, notes that had to be changed, details. I like how the basses are now working together (there is 5 of them). I also put the 'free for the holidays' compressor by Native Instruments, Super Charger to good use.

8-1-14: Tweaked the Mangler, the main snare drum and some other details most people will not notice :)

7-1-14: Always be tweaking.. Changed some voices and the mix and put The Mangler in there, granular synthesis with a sample from the intro.

30-12-13: After listening for 25 days you tend to hear things you want to change. Thanks to digital technology, that is not a problem at all. And replacing a file is easy on Soundcloud as well.

5-12-13: I didn't understand where the second side chaining effect came from, but I choose the wrong settings for the compression of the complete mix. Another new mix, also changed things that annoyed me during listing to the track on different moments and systems. Next could be re-playing the piano part and changing the lead melody and/or sound.

4-12-13: Updated version. Some new sounds, (I used the great KICK drum synthesiser by Sonic Academy for the first time), changes in the mix, extra pitch effects and I am now starting to use a great compression plugin by FabFilter.

17-11-13: After 25 hours of work I want to share the first version of this track.

The highs and the lows, the hits and the misses.

This track is composed, played and programmed by me, one little loop in the hihat section. And, as always, way too many sounds crammed into one.

For the miss.

For the miss.</googleplay:description>
<itunes:summary>24-2-14: Still room for improvement.
