I’m both honored and thrilled to present this collaboration between myself and one of my favorite djs David Home. A brave, brilliant, humble, and happy guy totally open to music of every style and genre. We had great fun playing a game of musical ping pong, with both of us learning from each other throughout the process. I eagerly anticipated receiving each of David’s installments for the set, and could barely endure the suspense until I had listened !!The collaboration has peaks and valleys, with some high tech underground acrobatics. Your best headphones or sound system are recommended :)) Fasten your seat belt, and get ready to take off, have a good trip !!

Yet, it's the 20th edition of the series ! I'm delighted to have the gifted Ginger Vag as a guest who will be in charge of this last episode, guiding us along the journey trough a stupendous sound exploration and offering for the landing, one of her magnificent track ''Heart Away'' Magnifique !

Below Ginger's summary

''This is a set, compiled & mixed by me in May 2017. It includes 11 tracks & songs of the highest evaluation for my ears & my soul. Deep House originated by the Underground Scene is the one to blame for while listening.. A genre I love but I mix only in very special occasions, due to my ambient orientation and devotion. I also grab this chance to introduce The AVenss duet-project where I'm the one-half part, through 3 included tracks (avenss.com). So thank you Yazcine for the invitation, it was a honor and a pleasure. And of course, all my love and respect to everyone around the World, who'll take this 60min ride with me''
Below Skyecatcher's summary

''The unknown is always calling us to greater and greater freedom. In keeping with the concept of freedom, and my own personal tastes, the set is very eclectic, spanning a number of genres and a relatively wide BPM range (60-174). I’ve picked the tracks because I love them and they resonate, or are attuned in some way, with what I understand and/or feel about freedom, the unknown, and a calling. Many thanks for taking some of your precious time to listen; it is my hope that it gives you food for thought as well as listening pleasure''

''Man, I was glad when you asked me if I would participate to the FCTU. Thanks for this. Yes, I'm one of those unknown DJ's who love music more as anything else. When I play music my head is free, I’m free. I can completely switch off, no matter how the day was. I can express my emotions with my mixes and show other what is going on in my head. Music is for me very emotional, almost personal. For your series, I wanted to deviate a bit from the style of my more recent mixes of the last time and went a few years back and played a little more tech. A bit of Berlin club music. I can not say why I choose the tracks of my set. I love them, sure. But when I played this my mood says play this track and try this and this. Hope you all will like this.
<itunes:summary>I am very glad to have as a guest DJ Jense - https://www.mixcloud.com/Jense/ who is presenting us a cracking set, a full extent of his talent. I would like to share with you his words:

For the Love of House! For the Love of Music!''

Now Enjoy !!

Below is her intro:

''Music took such a big place in my life as I came from the radio world. It's an art of emotions, but also of thought and humanity. Everywhere there are humans, there is music. Music creates an imaginary world of pure events, without "things". Why music? For nothing, for everything, to dance, to sing, to be together. Or to cry alone when music imposes its silence. To create mixes once immersive, then subjective, fit for immobile or dancing journeys, for baladeuse listenings and for abstruse reflections, the possibility to push the sonic explorations to reconciliate with the ambiant chaos. This is what Yaz offers us through FCTU, so I am proud today to bring my own dreamlike vision of this vital need for freedom and for the unknown'''
Here are few words from Jay Woodward:

"Firstly a big thanks to Yaz for inviting me to contribute to what has proven to be a legendary series already. The amazing sets he puts out have clearly captured the imagination of the great DJs in this series so far and I'm honoured to give you my take. I'm a fan of many genres but Electronica (in many forms) has been on my turntables since the early 90s so I've stuck to my roots here and put together a selection of ambient, breaks, house, techno and everything in between. I hope you enjoy!"
For more of his marvelous and eclectic sets, please visit https://www.mixcloud.com/iCazo/ page
Below iCazo's summary

''I am humbled to be included in the line-up for this FCTU project. Due to time constraints I merged Yazcine's brilliant FCTU idea with my ongoing project of transferring my music collection to an all digital format (no more crates of music). With the exception of 2 tracks, this playlist comes from music I have been listening to, and have loved, for 15 - 20 years! Respect to all the artist, producers and labels.. Respect to the amazing Yaz for his 'next level up' talent, taste and sincere kindness.. Respect to all the illuminary FCTU wizards who consistently inspire me.. and RESPECT to all of you! Thank you for always listening with open minds, hearts & souls.''
'' At first I want to say a "big thank you" to Yazcine for this fantastic "Freedom Calling" series he evolved with different sounds & guest DJs, I am glad to be part of it. Thanks also for the invitation :) For the "Freedom Calling" series I selected different tracks. African meets Deep Tech, Jazz meets Electronic, Trip Hop meets Soul. The first 40 mins are full of energy with a 4/4 beat. The second half is more trippy with some classics inside.

Here are few words from him:

I thought I'd have an ex post facto dip into previous electronic journeys for this compilation. You'll find similar efforts in my Layers series. It's ever so difficult for me to stick to one particular form or style so you'll find an array of different mixes with an emphasis on a deep electronic beaty loopy thread. Euphoric peaks, moody troughs, a couple of surprises and a few lengthy tracks. I really didn't know where to start for this until I found that Superpitcher 'Howl' tune. The rest was built back and forward from that. Just want to thank Yaz for inviting me to guest and to play a part in his wonderful series. Peace be with you, spread your love and legs, your Jellylegs.
Hence, it is appreciable that this later complies with Nature: an inexhaustible treasure of colors and sounds, forms and rhythms. This mix comprises several natural sounds, panoply of instruments and obviously electronic music :) The first half is soothing and the second part is a bit faster, but remains deep and melodic. The intro begins with a 1200 years old Japanese music "Gagaku" (Japanese traditional instruments like old style drums "Wadaiko" combined with electronic sounds). I love when traditional meets modern music, one refers to an anchored past expression and the other to a contemporary one. I had a lot of pleasure making this lengthy mix and hope you will like it :)

I've been finding myself increasingly drawn away from making purely dance-centric mixes. A lot of this has to do with my increasing fascination with ambient, a re-kindling of my love for weirdo folk/rock/punk, and a bit of exhaustion in hearing constant 4 to the floor rhythms. Right now, it just feels really nice to let the music stretch out and not worry too much about syncopation (though that still carries it's thrill). So, in this set, which I am thrilled to share with you all as part of this INCREDIBLE series, I try to unite all these tendencies into, what I hope is, a cohesive whole. You'll find pensive slow-burning acoustic ballads, ethereal washed-out ambient, psychedelic jazz, jazzy glam rock, narcotic disco, a slightly melodramatic song about a beautiful blue sky and the immortal words of James Baldwin.

I really love these songs, and I really hope you all love them too, or at least hear them, and get a sense of healing from them.
Below is Chris Mac's description

''First off, I thank Yazcine, an extremely talented DJ and the grand master of eclectic sets, for the opportunity to put a mix together for this series. There have been some truly unique and amazing sets so far and it is a pleasure to hear great DJs pushed out of their comfort zones. Having a completely open canvas is exciting but challenging. Instead of trying to crate-dig some obscure gems, I decided to pick tracks that I love listening to but have not included in my “usual” mixes before – except for a few at the end. These tunes represent a wide spectrum of my musical tastes and rather than trying to characterize the specific genres, I would say that I hope this mix keeps you entertained and enjoy the ride.''

Some of his arrangements are out of this world, an incredible journey trough sounds and genres. Hope you will like it as I did :)
Please find hereafter Andy Kennedy's description
"Any trip into the musical unknown will involve some changes in genre, rather than middle east or twanging instruments from tents in tribal circles from the deep jungle I instead ventured into a more western sci-fi gothic approach with a slight punk feel. Music and samples from great sci-fi movies to create a flow with the musical direction into the unknown atmosphere and then crashing back down to reality."

I'm very pleased to welcome my great Austrian friend DJ https://www.mixcloud.com/Bawaka/ . For this 4th episode, he is providing us a stunning mix, influences coming from the two hemispheres: Celtic, Medieval, African, Aboriginal... with thrilling and surprising parts ! The intent is to mix various genres, Bawaka has certainly exceeded all my expectations and maintained a very high quality level. I will let him describe his work. This series is dedicated to my guests, their pleasure is to make mixes and share them with all of you while having fun, the main reward is when you listen to it, love it and share it. Feel free to leave a comment, we are always very pleased having your thoughts, no doubt Bawaka will be more than happy to answer you :)

Bawaka:
Dear music lover!

I wanted to take Yaz´s discription on the series in FCTU 01 to the limits. With the selected tunes I very quickly noticed that this would be far out of my comfort zone. It took time for ideas to come up to make it kind of work.
So by far not a one off recording - trying to get the message over with every tune, being, that music has no boundaries whatsoever and most certainly can be seen as an or the universal language. Easily understood everywhere.
Tracklist with some notes ….. wish I were a tiny mouse in your homes or wherever you are to see the reactions whilst you listen 
1 Värttina - Käppee I bought the album Ilmatar about 12 years ago. 4 Finnish ladies carrying on about terrible men or something.... Itunes gives an explicit warning LOL... My Finnish clients gave me the translation - not that bad - just some female locker room talk :)
No chance in mixing with that track so had the idea of desert wind from the Sahara and layered Scotland The Brave on top - being a proud half Scott I thought this is appropriate :) and a good way into introducing a Celtic section with 2 Mediaeval Babes - The Snake followed by one of my all-time favourite songs 3 Afro Celtic Sound System - Eireann (Verse).
Because it sounded nice and fitted pretty well I reduced the speed from 4 Viken Arman - Drop Of Raki feat Jo.Ke, Iann from 105 to 95 followed by 5 Kyson - You. Now this series being Yaz´s idea and knowing a tiny but important bit of his personal history I wanted to include 6 Cheikka Rimitti - Nakhla as a personal gift for him and introduce and welcome the Arab or Oriental Nations. Pretty sure Yaz grew up with her (yes - a she …) unique voice and heard her plenty of times. She sure was a major figure in Algeria and was still giving concerts in her 80´s. She moved on 2006 aged 83. Mixing Kyson with Cheikka Rimitti is a bit rough though... Cheffls (Shuffles) or maestro Yaz himself would have done this much better… Anyway… French spoken in Algeria - next some French in the set and back into my comfort deep zone for a while (phew!) with 7 Sahalé - Le Petit Prince, 8 Mr. Statik - Lighthouse and amazing 9 Lee Jones - Joyful Noise....
Some noise that is joyful are children playing and 10 Fever Ray - When I Grow Up starts off the alternative section with my personal playground edit :) followed by 11 Choice - Siamese Twins and 12 Dillon - This Silence Kills.... The beautiful vocals of 13 Garmana – Euchari led be back up North. This former Swedish folk rock band finished the “Hildegard von Bingen” album 2001 combining mediaeval sounds with electronic music, singing Latin texts by Hildegard von Bingen. On it goes with Argentinian 14 Juan Pablo Cerabolo very fresh warm deep bass driven tune Preludio, followed by superb 15 Just Emmas Remix of Zakir – Ruhi and 16 Paax (Tulum) - Albina back and into a very mellow deep section with 17 Dominik Eulberg - Aeronaut and 18 Landside - Chains.
My last chosen tune is a traditional song from the former Aboriginal Band 19 Yothu Yindi – Gapu to whom I have a deep connection with, being adopted into their Gumatj Clan from Far East Arnhemland in Australia back in 1997 giving me the name Bawaka.

Really hope you enjoy my contribution to this amazing series and sincerely hope you have a great time listening to some tracks you might not have heard before. Thank you dear maestro Yaz once again for this unique opportunity for me being part of this series. Love it

I am pleased to introduce you https://www.mixcloud.com/davidcheccacci/ an Italian DJ whom I discovered while having the idea to start my FCTU series by listening to his mix ''Beyond The Dune'' that I highly recommend. I immediately invited him to join this project and I did good to do so, as he is offering a stunning set for this third part of the series. He holds the bar high after Cheffls placed it on a tough level to reach. I will let him describe his work:

David Home-DJ:
It’s with a great pleasure and honour that I have accepted the guest mix on the “FCTU“ project by the alchemical Yaz. Before me, our Maestro Cheffls made us fly with his Masterpiece set 02 of the series: and now is my turn, I hope to be measured up to involve you in another deep journey.

Our meeting point is at 1:08:35, on an abstract and panoramic soundscape.
I hope we will meet there!

We take-off with some comfortable tunes and gradually the sounds texture increases on minimal techno flow.

At 31:18 sounds become deep and progressive. Every new track increases its contamination on World Music and Ethnic, until becoming total ancestral.

1:08:35 we are out of time, percussion disappears. The ritual is complete. Now soundscape become lonely and panoramic.

1:10:17 here there is my “Freedom Calling The unknown 03” place: “The Silent Orchestra” by BIOSPHERE.

For the emersion an infant voice calls us for more times, beats restart and we are raised again.

Exit with: “Heaven Taste” by NO-MAN.

P.S.: a particular thanks to my friend and superb DJ Bawaka who has given some focal tunes for the realization of this set. GRAZIE ALEC!

The next guest will be my soul brother https://www.mixcloud.com/Bawaka/ , a real honor and joy having him as a guest, he has concocted us a true spectacular set ! Stay tuned :)

Thanks for stopping by and have an agreeable listening !

This serie is intended to be peculiar, celestial, crazy. The idea is to invite dj's and friends to participate in crafting a mix, unclassifiable as possible, mixing stuff we truly love and never dared to perform. Dragged tracks put aside, which every time they occur, we think: yeah, that piece is good but nahhhh... doesn't fit within the scope... perhaps next time. The intention is to step out of the comfort zone and narrate a story through mixing genres, creating paradoxes and contrasts without being restricted; by selecting for instance, atypical, quirky, Experimental, Eclectic, Underground stuff or music out of forest lost tribes ! and combine them with more contemporary music, with no boundaries, go as far as possible in the delirium and have pleasure in doing so. Sky is the limit, Venus, Neptune, or even the Unknown ! Try to surprise, captivate, drive and project the listener into orbit with a myriad colorful music - miscellaneous and emotional. This call makes me feel good :)

This mix is at 127 bpm all way through, It's been a while since I've been mixing at this speed... There are quite dynamic parts, couple of bangers intertwined with odd and heart ones, the last three tracks appeared on Irrbloss, an album from Dorisburg, one of my favourite producer. I could not help from mixing this set of three for my landing ! A massive respect to the artists, sounds creators who make me hear a wide range of colours and unusual sounds forms.

I wish a very good year to all listeners and of course djs and friends on MC, the sounds broadcasters :) Even if I can't listen to all mixes due to time constraints, let me say how much I love the music you share. Tracklist and Acknowledgment are shown at the bottom of feedback section :-)

Since inception, mankind had always the sense of rhythm which shaped evolution and culture, reproduced it in a distinct guidance over time. Music is a work of art and a mode of communication using rhythm as a pulse... I found an old video of myself at Club Aria in Montreal, only good memories, but notice how fast the rhythm was !!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8BbdDa94FkU
I calmed down a little as I withdrew from the scene :-)

Once again, I would like to thank the artists/musicians appearing in this mix for their unbelievable creativity and inspiration. For this set some tribal tunes were picked. Enjoy !!
I have three months of listening to catch up so there were no new releases, but only elder pieces that I hadn't yet the chance to play. I begun softly for the first 20 minutes and gradually introduced Deep House and Techno. You will also find some Oriental influences, I am seeking this footprint.

Thanks for stopping by and have an agreeable listening !
My remedy: dancing to cosmic music, touching the stars, going back down and having a sense of appeasement. And all that thanks to the power of music.

I cannot repeat often enough all the respect and admiration I have for artists who are able to get out of their confinement and to move towards creativity. I see that humanity evolved despite all horrible things that have happened and that are happening. The light is still shining and music is among its vectors.
