Music and sounds of Groovefella

Music has always surrounded Bernardo; son of an A&R of a “major” and of a known music reviewer in Portugal, vinyl and CD stacks were always common at home. As such, great music was a great part of growing up and led to a huge passion until today. At a teenage, with the discovery of House Music and starting to go out to big clubs, everything changed. The addictive atmosphere and the DJ’s energy with the crowd got the full awe from him, sometimes fully concentrating on the DJ’s technique, learning. The acquiring of a set of turntables was just a matter of time and lots of practicing after, Bernardo was invited by a DJ friend to be the opening act on an After-hours at a former mythical club in Lisboa. Very nervous but even more excited, he plays a fine set that got the full attention of the club’s resident DJ, deciding to keep inviting Bernardo for more gigs there. The opportunity for lot’s of technical experience and sometimes doing long sets had a big role in solidifying his career. In 2012, production comes in play and with it the alias “Groovefella” that he keeps to this date, releasing for several labels including a self-owned. Able of doing any kind of set, from peak hours to opening (for names such as Stefano Noferini, Mendo, Jay Lumen, Gary Beck, Nathan Barato, Deborah de Luca, Pig&Dan, amongst many others), Groovefella is more than thankful for the privilege of sharing musical moments with some legendary DJs at several clubs and private parties. You can hear him mainly in his home country, Portugal, where energetic and powerful music is always mandatory in his DJ sets.
