I'm doing these Hippo Club mixes to give something back to the thousands of clubbers who have supported me over the years. To have brought a small amount of happiness to other people's lives gives me a feeling beyond measure and the chance to do it again by this medium is the best way I can think of & the response so far has been overwhelming. I love every single last one of you.

When I first announced that I was doing this a few people mentioned I should charge for them but this is something I would never do (Well not since I used to flog dodgy mix tapes back in the Hippo days!) as its never been about the money, always the music -but a friend gave me the idea to do it for a charity close to me so I'm also doing this in the memory of my grandparents Collingwood & Marjorie. My nan was looked after by Marie Curie Cancer Care at Holme Towers, Penarth, South Wales during her last days & the care they took not only of her but me & my family was immeasurable Especially Cheri Deans & Leah Deans. I did a charity mountain climb for them a few years ago but I'm getting old and unfit now so this is the best (and less knackering) way to do it. I still miss them both terribly every day so want to make them proud by doing what I do best hence the marathon mix sessions... Everyone has had dealings with cancer either themselves or with someone they know so if you've liked what I've done (and am still doing) and can spare a couple of quid, visit my JustGiving page & it'll go a long way to help a great bunch of hard working people ease the final days of the poor souls who've been hit by this proper shit disease...
