Pain Monster

I wrote this score for a short movie by my friend, sand artist Gert van der Vijver. The story is about a cancer patient who celebrates his birthday with his family, but is than attacked by an intense pain that starts in his bones and works its way out through the nerves. In the end there is relief because of a new kind of painkiller that is invented to help these patients.
I composed this improvising on the violin, than build the score around it, with several synths, madga (a large clay/iron ore pot), shaker, viola and felt piano.
