Having fallen in love with music in general at the tender age of 0, Fam Riot had a special relationship with sonic delights from the word go. Like many, he grew up admiring and playing rock music until discovering the wonders of electronic music only 14 years later, and with such passion in his bones he became a DJ in 2010, with the natural step of creating his own wonders only 2 years later. Whilst this may not seem long for him to have been making music for, the quality and talent is very apparent in his productions.

Düstermensch EP is three tracks based around that dark and mysterious world he inhabits. Starting us off is #1. From distant soundscaping and knocking in our ears, an ambient style journey of noodling bells and weirdly sci-fi sound design with a rhythm hidden beneath that leads us to a realistic hand drum pattern and an almost dubstep influenced bassline that sets us up nicely for #2.
At this point we find ourselves in more familiar Fam Riot territory, a straight 4/4 beat and a depth primed for head down middle of the night darkness dancing is what we’re treated to here, laced with twisting FX ans an arpeggiated synth line that builds tension, the mystery begins to unfold on the meaning behind this ep.
Last but not least is #3. That appears to start as the EP began but is a subtle trick of the mystery man to lure us into a pounding dancefloor destroying bassline, a relentless movement yet again dispersed throughout with layered FX and a deepness that is touching on sinister, not so much mysterious any more but Dark!
