Born in Johannesburg and raised in the streets of Dobsonville, Soweto. Mpumelelo “LaBlack” fell in love with music at a very early age…Being introduced to Rhythm n Blues, Pop, Neo-Soul, Jazz, Rhythm and Poetry at primary school level helped grow the love for the esoteric ear he lives by today “…and if he should add, he will forever live by it”.

He’s an extra ordinary guy who loves music and started Djing in 2009. He keeps the fire burning by running a monthly musical podcast (Esoteric Groove Sessions) and playing at numerous Social Events, Open Markets, Pubs, and Clubs in and around Gauteng.

He is founder of Esoteric Grooves, a brand that consists a group of young, ambitious and sophisticated gentlemen who share the same vision, mission and have a purpose of introducing esoteric music, concepts and events to the people of “Azania” known as South Africa and other parts of the world.
