Remixes

by Elysium

After a long consideration I have made the final decision that the upcoming new Elysium album will also be the last Elysium album (besides a digital remixed album later).
After 20+ years in the psytrance scene and a "comeback" in 2004 I no longer feel the scene and to be honest I also do not like most of the music released these days. Call me old or grumpy etc. But that is me. The trend with 16th saw basslines put's me off and the way the scene has become a closed "Club" for select VIP artists and DJ's puts me even more off. Where has the unity gone in the flood of ego and fame hunting?
I am sincere when I say I 100% believe the scene has stagnated in a commercial loop where every artist copy each other in order to land the next gig at some commercial huge Festival or in order not to lose gigs as too many organizers seem very afraid of thinking outside the "commercial" box. Only a handful seem to dare experiment with their lineups and go in different directions than the usual lineups that has dominated the scene the last 10+ years.
To me the time has finally come where I do no longer feel attached to the scene or the people in it (with a few exceptions) and I rather go back to be a "hobby" artist and chase my dream to gather a band and once again find the "fun" in making and performing music (no matter what kind of music I will end up making).

I will end this with a huge warm felt hug and thanks to all those of you who has supported me and my music over the years and those of you who still believed in me when I tried to make a comeback... You shine!
