This month's guest (in the second hour) is DJ 2 Tru, 2 Tru started getting into house music by listening to The Hot Mix 5, Lil Louis, Ron Hardy, Steve Hurley, and Frankie Knuckles. He recalls going to the parties at Mendel High School, Glenwood Roller Rink, and the ballroom parties at various hotels in downtown Chicago.
Everyone back in the ’80s remembers the parties at (The Biz) Bismarck Hotel. A massive line would form around the block with partygoers eagerly anticipating the enchanting music awaiting their eardrums. Lil Louis, Ron Hardy, and Frankie Knuckles always headlined those particular parties.
2 Tru started producing tracks in the late ‘90s with a release on the original Undaground Therapy Label under the moniker, DJ 2 Tru. He has also remixed “Love Clouds” by Amanda Amariel under his real name, Sam Stith.
His remix for El Brujo entitled Satisfaction feat. Femi X (Nu Italo Remix) is out on NDI Records. NDI will also release another 2 Tru track titled “Tonight” revisiting the Italo Disco Sound in the coming months. The release includes remixes by Judge Jay & Luca Colombo, Reinoud van Toledo, and El Brujo.


For 15 years, 2 Tru taught Club DJ and Music Production courses at Columbia College Chicago. 2 Tru plans to launch an online electronic music school, Mix Suite, later this Summer to train future Club DJs, Remixers, and Producers.]]> features DJ 2 Tru from Chicago.
