Group efforts are always a great thing. Lengthy in part but very much rewarding in the end. And this is exactly what is happening with the next Dub Disco Release: What was supposed to be a Remix record, in the beginning, turned out to be much more! But first let us introduce Aporia. Born and raised in New Zealand and located in Berlin, he showcases a blend of synth-pop and Balearic gentleness or as he describes it; “Supernatural synthetic, tropical rock n roll”. In 2016 he released his first album ‘Almost Tropical’ on cassette via Cosmic Compositions & Prison Tapes, featuring the tracks Jupiter’s Goldcoast and Stereo Moon. The cassette now being sold out we decided to put it on our next record, alongside some remixes from friends and family. Quickly we received remixes by the likes of @Aussteiger, @LITS801, @S&W and Cosmic Palms and decided to include 5 tracks by Aporia himself, turning an initial 4 track project into a 9 track long EP.

A-Side contains 4 Remixes and the B-Side comes with 5 warm soulful melodic super original tracks.

PreOrder Available via Bandcamp. Out on Vinyl soon and later digital!

This fertile combination is now back, orchestrated by Thorsten Lee Broda, the synth wizard of Neukölln and @Aussteiger.

Together they create a warm sounding ep full of marvelous melodies and smooth beats for the couch and the dancefloor.

A1 Moon over Aleppo starts everything off with a carpet ride to the obscure realms of arab influences. Piercing synth-riffs fuse with bouncing chords form a thick layer of psychedelic madness that dominates this straight forward Disco bomb.

On the flip we celebrate this huge Balearic summer tune made for the festivals and long summer nights. A fluffy cloud of a track called Balearic Cosmos. Carried by delicate percussion and gentle melodies, this tune just makes you feel good.

B2 Nobody´s listening we give you this groovy melody dripping with heart-warming and twisted sounds that take you on a ride in no time. This one is reminiscent of Daft Punk's early days, but also blends in West-Coast influences, and would fit any sunset ride on the Malibu shore-line in a convertible.

Shortly after Aussteiger's successful debut on Dub Disco we knew exactly that we wanted our long time friends S&W on board for our second release. These guys have been a huge influence on us for a long time now. First we fell in love with their eclectic and powerful DJ sets and when we heard the demos of these hardware nerds we were truly blown away.

When we asked them to produce our second release they handcrafted this EP full of lovely analogue sounds for us. It surely stands in contrast to the first record and by that underlines exactly what Dub Disco is about: A journey through the vastness of electronic music.

Cashmere Green is the opener on this EP. It's a true Nu-Funk, West-Coast influenced banger with a distant cosmic flair carried by meticulous and peculiar drums. Driven by a pending groove, this one invites the light into any dreamers ears and ensures your very own trippy dancefloor experience.

On the flip, we dive into Wind up Bird. The track starts off as a scratchy and vibrant House track, riding on a funky bassline. It gets carried away by dreamy chords and breaks down into an incredible melancholic melody that will keep no eye dry.

Finally there is Machine Love. An 80s influenced open air peak time party tool that will definitely put a smile on your face and a rocket in your pocket.

All good things take time, @Aussteiger said once.

And indeed, it took a serious amount of time to get everything set for what soon will be known as Dub Disco´s very first release!
We’ve been digging deep inside Aussteiger’s tune collection. Not only to make sure that the first three-tracker is a belter, but that it also showcases exactly the kind of musical approach we wanted as our personal imprint:

To hell with a boring and homogeneous release that only represents one genre! We were looking for something that stands for itself, something that tells a story, something that is representative for what the artist stands for in a musical sense. And after a tedious quest, we carefully curated something we think is dope!

Kicking off the number one is a track disclosing the joint forces of Berlin-based collective of musicians Los Wawis and Aussteiger's capabilities as a remixer. Here appears a psychedelic version of the track, which is carried by gentle guitars, a dubby bassline as well as the funky-trippy synthesizers that usher a tropical vibe onto the dancefloors.

The starter on the flip is entitled “Heimat” and comes around as a melancholic interpretation of Aussteiger’s time in exile, a period that enabled him to craft his very own style. There is not much to say about this bomb that the ear doesn't catch instantly: this one is an honest earworm, with it's irresistibly arranged horns and a pervasive and driving bassline.

To finish everything off, we went for a nasty banger, that carefully blends different aspects of the raving side of dance music. The electrifying broken beat and it’s haunting bassline are blended with an intense influence of Acid.

Shortly after @Aussteiger's successful debut on Dub Disco we knew exactly that we wanted our long time friends S&W (@S-and-W) on board for our second release.

To hell with a boring and homogeneous release that only represents one genre! <itunes:summary>All good things take time Aussteiger said once.

Octave The Cat always had a thing for mixtapes for various occasions, especially when those mixes revolve around a special topic and tell a story. In this case, some of you might have guessed it, the topic is: Voco der Liebe, and it is a perfect representation of Octave the Cat's favorite sounds: "Vocoder excess, Synths like screaming cats and howling mermaids and the right dose of electric guitars, inspired by El Deux." Maik Gyver is delivering an abysmal view into his abundant record collection, that translates into a mixtape that goes completely nuts. Throwing in a good measure of Jazz and leftfield madness, as well as some Kraut influences, this has become one tasty stew!
What's there more to say? This man is a true connoiseur in any genre, and everyone needs to let out their dark side once in a while, right?
<googleplay:description>After Bunzinelli's last Podcast that already brought some dark vibes upon us, we venture event further into experimental and bleak territory. Maik Gyver is delivering an abysmal view into his abundant record collection, that translates into a mixtape that goes completely nuts. Throwing in a good measure of Jazz and leftfield madness, as well as some Kraut influences, this has become one tasty stew!
What's there more to say? This man is a true connoiseur in any genre, and everyone needs to let out their dark side once in a while, right?

Welcome to Bunzinelli's world! This just might be the darkest and trippiest mixtape so far, and it comes from our Montreal based homeboy!
Originally a true Techno head, with a slight inclination towards epic Trance anthems, Bunzinelli saw Lena Willikens when he visited us in Berlin, and from that time on, he fell in love with all the crazy sounds that would surround the "Salon des Amateurs", and everything that would meld his obsession with dark & heavy percussion, and the occasional nasty synthesizer.
And so it was born: An insanely trippy and floaty first half that perfectly blends with a pounding, percussive section. If this doesn't mess with your senses, then we don't know what will...
As one half of the mighty Soul Future Bass collective from Berlin, Sheikh is wandering the the vast and fertile plains of Disco and stomping House. With Africa being his second upcoming place of upbringing, you can be sure to find some Afro-vibes all over his sets. He has shared the decks with Serj Nosé a couple of times, so expect this to be true Dub Disco sound interpretation!
For this podcast edition, has taken the path of flogging cosmic & stellar Nu-Disco, only for descending upon us with some warped and trippy House, always with a strong feeling on the rhythm section.

The third entry in our Dub Discodes series comes from our long time friend Sebastian Herre.
The Berlin-based Dj and producer quickly gained our attention, thanks to his funky and House infused sets, while he also is a representative for eclectic Dj-sets, an approach that we always appreciate at Dub Disco.

Furthermore, his pedantic approach to production has instantly maneuvered him into our hearts and pool of future releasing artists! With an affinity and strong love for analog production, we since then see him as fit for joining our family.

But until then, he shortens the wait with this one and a half hour mixtape he crafted for us, which turns out to be an insane groove monster!

Carefully blending a healthy mixture of Electro-Funk slow jammers with some melancholic soul, blues and R'n'B tunes, this one starts out as an infectious hip exercise. Constantly taking up the pace, he comes up with slightly trippier and Cosmic Disco to wrap it all up with a melodic House finish. So so tasty!

With the contribution to our DubDiscodes series by Aussteiger, the second brain behind the Dub Disco label is revealed. He carefully but always succesfully blends all musical genres on his path, creating his very own perspective on what should be dance music. Mostly revolving around the different aspects of House music, the introduction to DubDiscodes #2 perfectly sets the tone for what is about to come: An uncompromising mixture of sparkling and dubbed-out House, cheesy and heart-warming Disco, as well as rough acid breaks. Not only is it a showcase for his vast pool of music he uses as a Dj, but also an indication on how his approach to production works. Never loose an eye on any genre out there might be something to miss. Oh and our first Dub Disco release will be by the man himself!
