DJ Jay Q

Sunnyhill Road, London SW16 2UW, United Kingdom

Music has always been my number 1 passion, even as a young child. I recall having a preference for more “clubby” type music and electro sounds, such as Sweet Dreams by the Eurythmics. Growing up in Brixton, I then fell in love with Hip-Hop when I first heard Run DMC as a teenager and was hugely inspired by their DJ, Jam Master Jay.

I then spent 15 years DJing house parties, universities and became resident DJ at West End nightclubs and cocktail bars in Soho. I eventually found my way into radio presenting, hosting my own show dedicated to old-school (or “old-SKOOL” to keep it real!) classic anthems from the 90s.

You can still listen to old episodes via iTunes. The show made it to No 1 in the independent podcast charts, with thousands of downloads/plays each week from all over the globe.
