Los Angeles-based DJ Blacklow (Jeremy Blacklow) grew up inspired by the house music of New York City in the '90s. From the time he moved there in 1994, the beats of DJs such as Junior Vasquez, Danny Tenaglia, Victor Calderone and the late Peter Rauhofer Rauhofer –- and the Sunday house sounds of Danny Krivit, Joe Claussell & François K at Body & Soul -- opened his ears to the sounds that still influence him today. Living in Los Angeles since 2004, Blacklow finally listened to friends' advice and took his love of music to the next level, beginning to play bars, clubs & events throughout Southern California in 2011.

Blacklow's sound is a mixture of house, progressive house, tech house, circuit, tribal, and pop. His sets are known for blending the old and the new together seamlessly to create an incredible dance floor journey on every outing.

Blacklow has risen quickly in the LA scene to become a resident DJ for several of SoCal’s biggest promoters such as Tom Whitman, Paul Nicholls, Jeffrey Sanker, and Luke Nero & Andrés Rigal. His residencies have included Here lounge in West Hollywood, Nero/Rigal parties RASPUTIN, PLASTIC FANTASTIC, COMMODORE, and SUMMERTRAMP, and Nicholls' Stripper Circus parties in LA, Las Vegas, San Diego & Seattle.

Special events Blacklow has headlined include five years in a row at LA’s world famous HALLOWEENIE party (2012 - '16), Halloween New Orleans (HNO, ‘14 & ‘15), Provincetown Carnival Week at the Crown & Anchor (‘15 - '16) ELEVATION gay ski weeks at Park City, Tahoe & Mammoth, Aspen & Whistler gay ski weeks, The Royalty Group's "High Tea" events at San Diego Pride, Palm Springs Pride & White Party Palm Springs, LA's GLAAD Media Awards, Out magazine's 20th anniversary party, The Black Tie Dinner in Dallas (‘15 & ‘16), Memorial Day weekend Pensacola, and Pride events ranging from New Orleans and Vancouver, to Seattle and New York City.

For four years, Blacklow has been a regular name on the gay scene in Las Vegas, playing monthly at the (now closed) Share nightclub, the Xposed pool party at the Tropicana, the official after-party for the Vegas Pride Parade.

In summer 2015, Blacklow headlined at the Dream Hotel for NYC Pride when Caitlyn Jenner made her first ever public appearance with him behind the decks. (as featured on E!’s “I Am Cait”!)

Blacklow can be heard regularly in LA these days at Flaming Saddles (FRESH Fridays) as well as at West Hollywood’s world-famous The Abbey.

In Jan. 2014, Blacklow released his first production (along with production partner, George Figares), a high-energy remix of Sara Bareilles' Grammy-nominated anthem "Brave," which has been downloaded over 20,000 times.

Blacklow and Figares remixes together have included "Let's Dance" (Ana Paula ft. Yan Lavoie, Pump Records), “Bad Chick” (Seth Cooper + Trypsin feat. Sasha), a tribal after-hours take on Toy Armada & DJ Grind's "St. Elmo's Fire" (Swishcraft Records), Zedd's "I Want You to Know" (feat. Selena Gomez), Iggy Azalea & Rita Ora's "Black Widow," Gwen Stefani's "Hollaback Girl" and "Baby Don't Lie," and Fifth Harmony's "BO$$."
In Fall 2016, Figares & Blacklow are releasing their first single together -- an update (and full remix package) of the 2001 anthem "To Be Able To Love" -- featuring vocalist Brenda Reed on Swishcraft Records.</itunes:summary>

Just under the wire… it’s my new podcast for Memorial Day weekend 2016.

I’m thrilled to be playing at Emerald City nightclub this year for the huge crowd that descends upon Florida’s panhandle to kick-off to summer. It’s a long tradition that I’m thrilled to now be a part of. I experienced my first Memorial Day in Pensacola last year, and I’m happy to say that I’m officially a convert.

I can’t wait to see everyone on the dancefloor on Friday, May 27th. And be sure to also catch Dani Toro and Joe Gauthreaux at Emerald City on Saturday and Sunday respectively!

The tracklist, per usual, is over on PodOmatic - www.djblacklow.podomatic.com/entry/2016-0…_45_32-07_00

Spring is here again… and with that comes that feeling of new beginnings.

I’ve been wanting to put out a new high-energy circuit podcast lately. So, in line with this sentiment of spring, I’m going to begin again with my #PugLife podcast series – the installments of which will all consist of big room high-energy remixes intent on getting you dancing.

I’ve done several edits on some of my favorite current tracks for this podcast. Also, I hope you enjoy the first full length listen online of George Figares and I’s new remix of Seth Cooper + Trypsin’s “Bad Chick”! (The tracklist is HERE: www.djblacklow.podomatic.com/entry/2016-0…_39_08-07_00)

I received such an unexpected positive response to my first “House Is A Feeling” podcast that you can expect more soon from that series, as well as from my “Tech-nically Speaking” sets. And I still haven’t forgotten about that latest “Deep House” series podcast. (it’s just been about finding the time to create it!)

I have some huge announcements coming up in the next month that I can’t wait to share with everyone, including news about my first single! Be sure to follow me on social media (links below) to hear the news as soon as it’s public.

Tech-nically Speaking (Part 1)

In just under the wire before the beginning of 2016 is installment #2 of my “4 podcasts in 4 weeks” series – a tech-house podcast. (to be followed soon by my classic house and latest deep house podcasts!)

Call this what you will – “actually” a house music podcast, something not purely “techno,” something totally different than the circuit sound I’ve been gravitating towards over the past year, my audition mixtape to finally play next year in Sydney – whatever you want to label it (but I prefer to avoid labels!), I’m thrilled with how this one turned out. Most of it’s at 126 BPM, although it creeps between 125 – 128 at points.

A lot of this is inspired by the Australian sound of late (and it contains mixes by DJ/Producers Philthy Holster, Brett Austin, and Kitty Glitter) – I love so much about what’s popular down there these days.

I’m so happy with this podcast that I already have the tracklist prepared for a “Part 2,” which is ready to go for mid-to-late January. (once I finish my other two genre specific podcasts which are on the back-burner!)

Hey All,

I’d like to write a very special thank you to everyone who came out for Halloween New Orleans this year. It was truly one of the most amazing nights of my DJ career to date and Saturday night’s “Fall of the Pharaohs” event was definitely one for the record books. I felt like Daft Punk spinning in that pyramid.

I don’t always post my sets, but this one I did indeed record. I hope you enjoy re-living the memories from the night… throw it on at the gym and hopefully the gold body paint will practically re-emerge in your sweat. While mine was a warm-up set, Joe Gauthreaux’s set the second half of the night was probably 3 of the best hours of dance music that I’ve ever heard. I can’t thank the incomparably talented Joe and Stephen Massey (DJ Grind) enough for their amazing camaraderie this year!

And thank you also to everyone who helped make HNO XXXII so special this year! Dustin & Jeff, Ryan W., Ryan C. Neil, Brent, Joe & Stephen and everyone else involved in volunteering for this one-of-a-kind weekend to benefit Project Lazarus. I was honored to be a part of it two years in a row. New Orleans has truly become like a second home to me over the past several years, and I look forward to many return trips in the very near future!

As an extra “thank you,” here also is the tracklist to my set (in case you’d like to seek out the remixes). I lead the night off with a track in tribute to last year’s HNO Saturday night DJ, my friend Tristan Jaxx. Several of my remixes and edits are available on my hearthis.at account - https://hearthis.at/djblacklow/ (In case you haven’t heard, Soundcloud is done. They’re booting off DJs left & right and I expect to have my own account deleted any day now)

1) Halloween Psycho (Chuwe Mashup) - Chuwe X Yellow Claw X Cesqeaux X GRX X Mark with a K
2) Jumpin ‘N Bumpin (DJ Tristan Jaxx Mash) - Kim English vs. D. Ramirez
3) Keep On Jumpin’ (The New Iberican League Original Mix) - David Penn, DJ Chus, Abel Ramos
4) Let's Dance (Oscar Velazquez Hard Mix) - Ana Paula feat. Yan Lavoie
5) Everybody Dance Now (Original Mix) - Hoxton Whores vs. C + C Music Factory
6) It's Not Right But It’s Ok (DJ Lapetina's Peak-Hour Queen Dub) - Whitney Houston
7) Pray to God (Xavier Santos & Danny Mart Remix) - Calvin Harris feat. Haim
8) Invincible (7th Heaven Remix) – Kelly Clarkson
14) Take The World (Original Mix) - Yinon Yahel, Maya Simantov
I lead the night off with a track in tribute to last year’s HNO Saturday night DJ, my friend Tristan Jaxx. Several of my remixes and edits are available on my hearthis.at account - https://hearthis.at/djblacklow/ (In case you haven’t heard, Soundcloud is done. They’re booting off DJs left & right and I expect to have my own account deleted any day now)
Another June is here and another Pride season is upon us. With the upcoming Supreme Court ruling on gay marriage, it feels like it's going to be an extra special summer.

I'm thrilled to be playing Pride events in four cities this summer: my hometown of Los Angeles, my former home of NYC, the ever-hospitable New Orleans, and my Pacific Northwest home (region!) of Vancouver.

Genre-wise, this podcast encapsulates a lot of different sounds – like most of my 'casts it's a journey. There's a tech house intro, followed by a huge high-energy circuit middle, with a bit of classic house and EDM towards the end. I'm excited to feature the impeccable production work of a handful of peers whom I'm also honored to call friends: DJ Grind and Toy Armada, The Perry Twins, and Casey Alva.

Every track on this podcast is music that I'm loving to play live in my sets right now. I hope that you enjoy it as well!
Tracklist available at: djblacklow.podomatic.com
Upcoming Gigs:

So, I've wanted to make a deep house podcast for over a year now, but I've always made excuses for not getting around to it. Well, the time's finally arrived!

One of the best challenges of being a DJ is experimenting with different genres of music and this is definitely a completely different sound for me. However, it's also a sound that I love listening to so I knew I'd enjoy making it. I wanted to make a mix that you'd play while sitting by the pool, looking out over the Aegean Sea or the Hollywood Hills with a cocktail in your hand and hope in your heart.

This is certainly no high-energy gym mix — it's a 180 from everything else on this page (with the exception of my "NYC Made Me Do It" podcast, which has a strong deep house section in it).

It's certainly not my best mixing technically, but it's my first time doing a podcast mostly at 124 BPM. For a while towards the top I even experiment with 3 and sometimes 4 tracks playing at once. Still, I'm really happy with how it turned out and I hope you enjoy it as well.

My next high energy February podcast should be done in a week.

My Upcoming Live Schedule:

February 2nd – Size Sundays, Here lounge, West Hollywood
February 3rd - "Vampire Academy" release party, Lure nightclub, Hollywood
February 16th - Tortilla Republic, West Hollywood
February 21st - 23rd, 2014 – [Elevation: Park City] (gay ski week)
February 28th - Stripper Circus, Share Nightclub, Las Vegas
March 23rd - Size Sundays, Here lounge, West Hollywood
March 30th - private event, Ixtapa, Mexico
April 6th - Tortilla Republic, West Hollywood

June 8th - Gay Pride L.A. (announcements to come!)</itunes:summary>

Bookings: Michael Benedetti - michael@executiveprandtalent.com (206-915-9393)

In Fall 2016, Figares & Blacklow are releasing their first single together -- an update (and full remix package) of the 2001 anthem "To Be Able To Love" -- featuring vocalist Brenda Reed on Swishcraft Records.

I think for most DJs, sticking to just one sound can get a bit boring. For me, deep house is what I listen to when I'm not in a club… when I need to think on long car rides… when I'm sitting around a friend's pool on a lazy weekend afternoon.

Deep house has increasingly become my passion project and I've been working on this latest set for quite a while… in-between other gigs and projects. The BPM on this one varies from 120 – 124 in sections, but it never gets above. It's a full two hours long and I Part 2 I have already uploaded here on hearthis.at.

Please share this podcast if you enjoy it. I'd love to be able to play this sound out live more in the future!

Bookings: Michael Benedetti - michael@executiveprandtalent.com (206-915-9393)

In Fall 2016, Figares & Blacklow are releasing their first single together -- an update (and full remix package) of the 2001 anthem "To Be Able To Love" -- featuring vocalist Brenda Reed on Swishcraft Records.

Please enjoy my 90 minute disco-infused set during sundown for Outfest's screening of the Director's Cut of "54" at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. The set was an ode to disco -- old and new -- so you'll here a few contemporary songs in there as well, which appropriately capture the sound. Yes, a couple of the transitions are rough slams into each other, but this wasn't for a club crowd. It still turned out fun!

At around 1:07 is when Caitlyn Jenner arrived, and the out point of this is where we breaked for Caitlyn to watch Candis Cayne's performance. It was truly a magical day during a very special year. Thank you Jared Needle for making this day so incredible.

This is tea dance / afternoon music -- not my normal circuit stuff (just so you're prepared). But I think everyone had a good time with it!
